[Update] 28 March Perplex City Sentinel New issue! Including several new articles, and maybe a few messages to us?:
Anonymous sources reported to the Sentinel that Sente Kiteway's Cube retrieval effort is being delayed further weeks, coinciding with a growing firestorm of accusations and public outrage. "There isn't really much Sente can do," the source said. "In his defence, his team has already suffered a number of devastating setbacks, including equipment failures [and] other unforeseeable problems."

I find the Futures section to be particularly interesting, especially at the bottom:

Did anyone here write any of those letters to the editor?

I think I found all the names mentioned, here is my list. Please move this to the reference
I think there is much in this issue. The Future's section holds a LOT of subtle references to how to crack things, and the regulr articles are mentioning keys and how they work!

Is it a coincidence that Henrik scolded employees about shutting things down properly before the cube was stolen? I have the chronology correct I think. If Henrik had equipment shutdown problems beforehand, and they say that equipment failures are hapening after the Cube being stolen . . are the error logs correct and the info that the Sentinel has incorrect?
ARG!
[EDIT: List of names replicated by POTUS here . Thanks, POTUS! yanka]

So there, they aren't internal devices like I thought, but more like the chatter's from the I Love Bees world, Someone else guessed at that a day or two ago.
More evience for them not being implanted is when they say that they are no longer in use, it would be pretty hard to turn something off that was connected to someone's brain, right?

I moved the names to a DETAILS thread, but it would not let me delete my entry above. Sorry to hog more space I didn;t want to!
I agree that the Key should be kept nearby to one's self, as is mentioned in The East Old Town Crime report article. Seems like a handheld device to me.
If the Authentication still doesn;t wrok without this physical device, is it possible to read articles requiring authentication without one? If not, is it an ERROR or OMMISSION on the part of the Sentinel to not put Open hyperlinks in their stories (if they are capable?).

Well, they defiently have mroe advanced technology at least Healthwise. Check the article at the bottom of the main page "Geltman Dies at 91" You can't see the whole text but it does say he died of complications of Reconstructive Heart Surgury, We in no way have the capability to do something that major to heart, at least the way they are putting it.

"Ascendancy Point"? mentioned in the letters section, in the letter written about fFutures in the paper.
Quote:
As for the notion that the gravity of other planets could affect us here, a trivial calculation shows that the Ascendancy Point exerts far more gravitational influence on us than any planet!
what the heck? a quick google turns up no recognizeable references to any specific Ascendancy Point of which i should be aware. dictionary.com has no entry. so it's a new concept.
Ascendancy Point?? is that perhaps the perplexian version of the sun, maybe?

also, another curiosity of the perplexian universe:
Academy Discovers Galaxy
in the "more headlines" column on the fFar right of the fFront page.
They discovered it? well, that can be taken a fFew ways. the hubble telescope discovers new galaxies all the time. that's sort of what my tax dollars paid fFor it to do. But on the other hand, In the begining the 20th century, someone else's tax dollars paid a guy to plot out every star he could, and discovered an awful lot of them were globbed in big bunches which, as it turns out, fForm what we call the milky way. So which discovery did the academy make here? The galaxy, or A galaxy? Another one of those things we'll not get the answer to fFor some time, i suppose.

or they have a more advanced understanding of physics than us. i would assume they mean a sun though, or whatever else their planet is orbiting- as that would have the largest grav pull on them.
breaking it down, point of ascention. hmm
there's right ascention in astronomy, helps you find a star east west of your current longitude. otherwise im drawing a blank

I think you're right, all I can find is Ascendancy is a "controlling influence". They must orbit something or their world would quickly die. Earth would anyway.
I noticed the cover story image was actually linked to the story this time, and while all previous stories have 15 characters in their names (+html), this time the story has only 14 (+html).
That Futures page is mentioning alot about getting stuck. How are "eels and cucmbers" going to help?

I think the letters section is most interesting. It provides us with information that the Sentinel is seen as one-sided, narrow-minded, even missing a lot of facts. If this is the case how much can we trust the information we gain from the Sentinel?
