Here are the best directions:
(I used gameworks as the destination but I don't know if that is the correct destination; check the GPS coords for the correct building; this should put you in the correct parking lot)
1: Start out going NORTHEAST on DEPARTURES. 0.6 miles Map
2: Merge onto I-190 E. 1.9 miles Map
3: Merge onto I-294 N via EXIT 1C toward MILWAUKEE/I-90 W/ROCKFORD (Portions toll). 0.3 miles Map
4: Merge onto NW TOLLWAY/I-90 W toward ROCKFORD (Portions toll). 9.6 miles Map
5: Merge onto I-290 E/IL-53 S toward CHICAGO/SCHAUMBURG. 3.3 miles Map
6: End at 601 Martingale Schaumburg IL Map

Yes -- from O'Hare.
Anticipating the next question, best route from Midway (you will need to rent a car) is North on Cicero Avenue, South on I-55, North on I-294, West on I-290 . . . (mapquest will get you the rest of the way). You are looking at a solid 90-100 mintues.
As a general rule, stick to the freeways and you will be fine.

Curse the luck. Curse it. This would be without a doubt one of the coolest things I've done in a long while but I'm not going to be able to make it. I live in Rockford and work in Hoffman Estates... and get off at 2:30PM. There's not a chance in the world that my wife is going to let me stick around in Schaumburg all night. Everyone have a freaking awesome time and be sure to post pics so I can at least pretend.
Blast.

Heck yeah. Is there parking nearby cause I plan on staying for the weekend if I'm driving 12 hours and I don't plan on renting a hotel room...
I know krystyn already answered this, but to add, Schaumburg is very much a suburb. It's not really close to downtown Chicago, so it's like just about any midsize town anywhere, and Woodfield Mall is like most other malls in the US. Lots and lots and lots of free parking everywhere. There will definitely be no problems in that respect.

Ok, to all people in the area. Is there any construction or horrible traffic or any other reason I should change my route.

I have arranged a special training exercise for crewmembers 17 and older, utilizing squad-oriented combat simulation LIVEware, for Thursday, Nov. 4, from 18:00 – 21:00 Pacific time ...
I swear, since this went up last night, I thought this was all going down on Sunday ... on Halloween. I don't know why I didn't get to the part about Thursday. Anyway, I'll still bee there.

I would like to point out though I admire and even adore some of you - sit down and wipe that silly grin off your face angelo..... - I still am jealous beyond belief - I use my best, last George Castanza excuse to get yesterday off and coordinate - now.... no way to get to Chicago.
So, one request from all of you going - please take a pic of yourselves there, and pics/vid of the event and pass it along. If I can't be there - at least I can enjoy it vicariously through others

Cab fare $20-$30 each way.
$20-$30?? Ouch, that's quite a bit. I don't think I've ever taken a cab, but it seems like quite a bit for just a 15 mile ride. Oh well, I guess it will be worth it. If I get to fly for free, I can't complain about paying 40-60 bucks for a taxi. If anyone else is flying in we could share the cab I guess, but I don't know if anyone will be flying in (am I the only one that's so excited about this that I'm flying from over 1000 miles away??). I'm not sure what time my flight will get in, but it will for sure be early enough. The flight I might take lands around 4:10, so I won't have a problem gettting there on time. If anyone is flying in near that time, or might be passing by around 4:30 and could pick me up, that'd be great, just give me a PM and let me know.

I'll do you one better man. The second I walk in the door and find the Goddess squad I will whip out my phone, dial your number and the ladies and I will give you the loudest 'Hoo Hah' you've ever heard in your life.
At which point I fully expect a loud uproar from all the Chicago-ian beekeepers chanting Buzz Kill, Buzz Kill...
Plus I'll get a pic with the ladies and send it to you.

Ok, I've been looking into ways to get to the event from O'Hare without taking a taxi the entire way, and I found the train schedule. They leave right from O'Hare, but the problem is there isnt a Train station near the event. I've also looked into the bus schedule but I cant find the event on the map http://www.transitchicago.com/maps/maps/F2004NW.html that I found. If anyone knows the bus system very well and can tell me what route to take, or if it isn't possible at all, that'd be great. I can always take a cab if I need to, but I'd rather not spend ~$25 each way if it's possible.

Just for the record, I think the 17 year old age limit is due to the game being rated M for mature.

Well, from what I've found out about the bus/train schedule in Chicago, it doesn't look like any buses/trains get anywhere near the event. The event looks like it is about 10 miles west/northwest from the airport, and the buses don't go that far west. If anyone can confirm/deny this it'd be great, or let me know if they can think of another way to possibly get to the event from O'Hare It looks like I might have to take the $20-30 cab after all, which sucks, but it's worth it I guess.
