[SOLVED] Bronski Beat --> TheUnraveling.com Since this is turning out to definitly be a puzzle, I'm starting a thread here.
This post is mainly going to be a recap of what was said in the thread in General/Updates.
http://www.urbanmythology.net
What we know:
1) When all of the punctuation is removed, each line is exactly 19 characters, and makes the following block of text.
Code:
ihatethelonghotdays
ofsummeritseemstobe
endlessattimesandto
makeitworseitforces
metowaitforthetimei
longforeveryyearbut
atlastitsherefallis
theseasoniloveallmy
palsandigoeverytime
toseeleavesautumnal
leavesatsunrisehave
auniquebeautythatis
majesticthecrispair

coloryoucansensethe
greatpowerthathides
behindthefacadeweve
cometocallnatureive
seenthefaceofwhatis
beyondthatveiliknow
iwillneverbethesame
xuujuujuuhuhhnramon
2) This puzzle was updated, and the two X's were highlighted. I went ahead and color codded all of the other characters in the jumble before "Ramon" (See attachment)
3) Grumpyboy noticed that if you take all of the letters between and including the two Xs you get 144 characters. Here is that grid:
Code:
xplodewithco
loryoucansen
sethegreatpo
werthathides
behindthefac
adewevecomet
ocallnaturei
veseenthefac
eofwhatisbey
ondthatveili
knowiwillnev
erbethesamex
4) I noticed that there are only two 'U's in that block, and there are 64 characters between and including them. Here is that grid:
Code:
ucansens
ethegrea
tpowerth
athidesb
ehindthe
facadewe
vecometo
callnatu
5) More squares can be made, but these two are the only ones that stand out, or are created very simply.

And, just to be annoying, I"ll remind folks of the title of the puzzle.
What does it have to do with anything? Something , I would hope. The Bronski Beat did have a "hit" with "Why" - but maybe this is related to Beat. Or maybe not. I hope this helps.

Here is another color coded page. But this time, its of the grid rather than the origional page.

What about the signature?
I'm thinking
has to be the key to the encryption. Now what kinds of encryption would this fit?

I imagine that some of those characters are filler characters, to make every row have 19 letters.

Probably apropos of nothing, the second Bronski Beat album is called Truthdare Doubledare, which is nineteen letters long, as are all of the lines in this text... a tenuous link, I know, but it's the only thing I could spot right off. I agree with dmax though in that there must be some significance here that we're missing.
[EDIT] Also, just for the record, "BRONSKI BEAT" is rife with meaningful anagrams, including "ROBBIE STANK", "BRITON BEAKS" and "BABE NO SKIRT".
[ANOTHER EDIT] It could be a bad sign that "TRUTHDARE DOUBLEDARE" anagrams to "BED A DEAD TROUT HURLER". Or maybe a good sign, if you're into that sort of thing.

Probably don't have to spoiler, but following the pattern here is what I have, but it doesn't seem to go anywhere.

I did that same thing, download the html files I have attached at the start of the thread, they are color codded

I think I got it...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
let the letters u, j, h, and n be directions:
u = up;
j = right;
h = left;
n = down.
Look at the configuration of the U, J, H, and N keys on your
standard QWERTY keyboard to see the pattern.
start at the x in the grid and follow the "directions" given
in the signature -- that leads to "theunrAvelIng".
Have fun...

WTG mmdoogie! theunraveling.html doesn't work but www.theunraveling.com gives a really creepy site. Don't know if it's in-game though...
or has Ed/Amanda unraveled? maybe he did kill Randall!

Wow. That's several steps above the web design quality we've had so far. Creepy. Damn creepy.
