G4TechTV.com (G4TV.com show) <- Not much info; summary below

On Wednesday, August 5, 2004, a show (G4TV.com) on G4TechTV gave a brief description of the ILoveBees mystery. Normally, you would think that they would have made fun of all of us for going on the hunt, but they joined along. They began by showing the last ten or so seconds of the Halo 2 theatrical trailer, in which 'www.xbox.com' changes into 'www.ilovebees.com.' The hosts (and guest Cliffy B. of Unreal fame) then showed a few snippets of the site and talked about how it looks like it was hacked. After briefly showing pages of the site, the hosts talked about how the whole shenanigan by Microsoft and Bungie had to be something big. They explained that this would gain interest, hype, and all-around more immersiveness to the Halo storyline. After all of this was said and done, the recording on Dana's machine was played.

Nothing new was discovered, but they did open the eyes of many who had not heard of or seen the ILoveBees phenomenon. Links to ILoveBees.com and the ILB Wiki were presented. They are at the bottom of the URL given at the top.

Speculation from this show suggests that there will be a playable demo released on August 24, 2004. This has not been proven by any Microsoft of Bungie employee, though it has been disproven by Bungie's Frank O'Connors. He's been known to lie, however, and really isn't the greatest at Halo 2. Who knows? He could be pulling our leg.

Globe and Mail - August 5th.

This is actually a syndication of the Charles Herold NY Times article above, except you don't need to be registered to see it. Wink

xboxworld.nl picked up on the ilovebees stuff too, which is nothing really special, because dozens more Dutch gaming sites have, but the fun thing is they also mentioned ilovebeer.org, claiming it to be the "most hilarious thing ever". I thought that was worth a mention Wink

I just started watching it, story hasn't come one yet, but he said the story was "Bungie uses a Viral Marketing Campaign to create a Buzz"

Im sure no clues will come, just interesting it is now making it's way into the news.

(G4Techtv is 191 on Dish Network)

(edit: sry, didnt see this thread ^^;... It was Trout anyways o_O)

edit - moved to "press" sticky thread - SG
