[PUZZLE?] Orhtography and ARG
Is it a clue, or just a typo? Is it a typo, or perhaps a clue?

People discovered already some typos in the ingame websites. The question is, whether it's a clue, or it's just an inaccuracy of PMs?

Actually Bad Robot, or agencies it involves, do their homework, so the typos should be inserted on purpose. There are three scenarious, why
1) the person is in a moving state of psyche, so he/she doesn't care about how to write, just about what to write
2) internationality - in case of Tagruato: it could demonstrate the non-englishspeaking origins (semantical alienation, making a distance to the character/topic)
3) it could be a clue (e.g. a hint word could be read from the wrong placed letters).

So let's look for typos in the IG website.

Tagruato.jp
(in following I'd prefer to analyse only the Employee pages, since there are typos in other parts of tagruato.jp, but they belong to old ARG - if the typos will shape up as a clue, we can also look to previous contents)

Also writing of ParafFUN is inconsistent.
On their official subpage the name of this subsidiary is ParafFUN
http://tagruato.jp/paraffun_subsidiaries.php

The Employee of the Month pages name this subsidiary ParaFUN.
/meta/ I almost suppose, it was rather an oscitancy of the Puppet Masters...

Glad you started a thread on this Kosmo, I think it deserves to be continued to be looked into.

One thing that has bothered me about Megan's SECRET 13th gift is that it was something between Father and Daughter....kept secret from his wife. So it would make sense it was something that it had to do with Harold's obsession in protecting her. Right away we thought of walkie talkie/phone/computer as the gift. A way of secretly communicating with her Dad. Maybe that secret gift was another way of communicating .... a CODE and the passphrase prompt was a way of reminding her to use her code cipher to read between the words in his messages. To quote one of Harold's sentences: "I KNOW YOUíRE SMART ENOUGH TO SEE THROUGH IT."

Anyway with the timestamp numbers and the transposed letters it's enough to make me wonder.

I am interested in why you think the correct spelling of Aminata is Animata? In the article on Tagruato they use the spelling Aminata 4 times and yet only use ANimata one time at the very end.

Agree with Aminata.

Also, on the Employee of the Month pages they misspell ParafFUN as ParaFUN. It struck me as odd when the pages first came out, but I thought that it was just a gaffe. Maybe not!

Wellll - there's the term 'animatronic', and it's definition is...

"Animatronics refers to the use of robotic devices to emulate a human or an animal, or bring lifelike characteristics to an otherwise inanimate object."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animatronics

And 'Bold Futura' makes hardware that's 'revolutionary', according to their own website.

"Bold Futura is the contractor sector of our company principally engaged in the conception, design, manufacture and integration of advanced technology products. Our engineering technology is the most superior of its kind."

http://tagruato.jp/boldfutura_subsidiaries.php

So mayhaps BF built something to try to 'relate' to the just-awakened Clover...only it failed, and Clover went all MGP on them after the 'snafu'*.

@The_Stoned_Ape
@hinoai

you're right:

Quote:
The name Aminata is of African origin, and is used mostly in African countries but also in a few other countries and languages of the world.

http://www.thenamemeaning.com/aminata/

I'll correct and add ParafFUN
P.S. Where is ParafFUN error? I couldn't find it. Or they kinda... corrected it?

Well. One of them's certainly right. Hard to say which, though I'm gonna lean towards the one in the logo.

While Parraffun certainly makes more sense from a correct spelling point of view, Americanized English tends to enthusiastically butcher/simplify compound words proper spelling for the sake of capitalism aka marketing.

The best example of this is famously Donut. Should be Doughnut, but it's not!

So Parafun makes more sense to me from that standpoint.

Also has been brought up, Tomas and Aminata are real names, just non english ones. I guess we should assume whichever typo happens least often is the mistake?

About Aminata I'm almost convinced, it's a common African name. The mistyping as Animata sounds here as a nice wink, not a coincidental typo though.

Probably in case of Para(f)FUN it's just an inaccuracy, perhaps the new PM editing tagruato.jp is not the old one. They should make themselves aware of the backstory though.

Or everything is a puzzle, a part of picture, a code or something else.

Yep, that's where we're at. We need Cloverfield Clues to suddenly appear and tell us to run it all through an Enigma machine (because it turns out that Memory Lane puzzle has been IG this whole time) set to a magical rotor code we still never would have found on our own and ouila! "Remember to drink your Ovaltine!"

... Or they're just sloppy, as they've been through this whole arg.

Like actually I'll forgive it if it *is* JJ behind his macbook pro, producing multiple blockbusters, and television shows, taking dozens of meetings a day with all of Hollywood while also single handledly managing 10 Cloverfield Lane's social media presence and running this arg. Like, dude's busy, I'll forgive a few spelling mistakes.

Otherwise: it's 2016, use spellcheck.

It was more forgivable, in my opinion, when we thought this was an after thought ARG. But once they did the trailer thing with the pictures, it's obvious this was all pre-planned, and yes, just sloppy.

Lotsa oopsies!

Seems so in your face with the amount of misspells, I understand inferring this gentleman may be crazed, rushed and seeing spelling errors is normal, but this man is a navy coding specialist....

Isn't the accuracy of his word/number typing skills very important to his trade?

If we have a dead drop, maybe some type of cipher key or sub cipher...

Ohhhhh a Girl kan dreem can't she???
