I've always thought that claws were silly, it made him less scary and more comical of a villain in my eyes. I've always preferred tentacles because they're mysterious and unknown. I'm not sure about hands, but I'm in favor of something that appears to be hands but ends up being something out of the uncanny valley, like very long fingers or the like. Not exactly claws, but something scarier that looks like a distorted version of a hand.

I like it when he has hands, and tentacles at the back, it looks so cool. But claws don't really do it for me.

Hands I like him with hands, while tentacles are cool, when he only has hands he's creepier to me, the tentacles kind of kill that fear. I guess it's because tentacles aren't scary to me, and simply make him more " oh look he's definitely a monster because he's got tentacles! WOOOooooOOO!".

I like it when his hand are pointed like tentacles, for example, Marble Hornets Entry #40 (I think) I like when slendy's hand look like that. Also, unless it's well-done, I prefer no tentacles. Hands and claws are too un realistic for me.

For vlogs, hands only, a la Marble Hornets. Good special effects for other things aren't available to the vast majority of amateur filmmakers, and overreaching on that front is the quickest way to kill immersion. Slender-vlogs are at their best when they are minimalist. The brief, blurry glimpses of the Operator from early MH entries, for example, created tension much more effectively than a lot of the all-out appearances in other vlogs, because most of it was left to the characters' reactions and the audience's imagination. The trick to a good Slender Man on video, when he does appear, is to make the arms (and legs) unnaturally long. The Slender Man should look only vaguely human, but as though he's distorted; like a dark interpretation of humanity from an alien mind.
Blogs and images are a different story. The original images from Victor Surge on Something Awful had "tentacles," but they were wispy and almost translucent, as if they weren't really as physical as the later incarnations. That was cool. The point is, in prose and photo editing, believability is limited only by the talent of the creator, or at least much less limited by technology.

I like Tentacles. And hands but only well done hands. Tentacles add an awesome effect to Slendy.

I like everything, actually. Including the flipper like things Marble Hornets' Operator has. I think it's righteous to mix it up a bit. Admittedly, claws are so underused because most people don't seem to like them, which is a shame.

Personally, I really like tentacles on Slender Man, but hands only is probably my favorite. The main thing about Slender Man that makes him so scary is his frightening resemblance to a human. Him having claws would take away from that.

Yeah, tentacles are the way to go. However, I like to see him with the tentacles coming from his back (think Doc Oc). Normal body with hands, tentacles coming from the back is they way i prefer my slenderman. I don't like it when he his portrayed with his arms being just a mass of tentacles. Tribe Tribe does this ( i think) and it just doesn't suit my tastes. Don't misinterpret me though, TT's slenderman is scary as fuck.

I think the tentacle thing is so lame. I know I'm in the minority. I really do enjoy seeing what people do with them so far as special effects go, though.
