Maybe Alex was just such a bad director that he wanted to make the trailer out of the only stuff they'd shot. So like, they've only shot 2 minutes worth of the movie and Alex wants to make that into a trailer.

If the trailer included in the S2 DVD is supposed to be what they were working on (it includes the ukelele soundtrack), then they had actually filmed quite a bit, and it was after Entries 7 and 17. But I'm not sure how accurate it's supposed to be to ingame.

I'm liking the theory of the Operator is tied to the camera...

Tim is given a camera by Alex-and Tim says it's "old". Maybe its the camera from the B-Day party footage? Suppose Alex is trying to rid himself of the stalking by Slenderman, thus gives the camera to Tim. Tim, in turn, becomes a victim of SlenderMan as well.

Now the only hole in the theory is the appearance by Slenderman in #11 as Alex doesn't freak out, instead he yells at him. If the operator has been following him since the beginning Alex would recognize him.

Of course the alternate to this theory is that the operator can manipulate any video, past or present thus the B-Day footage is a taunt and he added himself into the video.

I think he is. Alex seemed to have gotten away from him for a while until Amy turned on the camera...Suddenly: Slendy.

Reading about how Brian noticed the Operator coming toward him really fast made me remember how he rocketed toward the camera in #51.

Seems to suggest he doesn't teleport, just moves really fast.

Although, #22 it gets darker and darker after progressive teleports, suggesting it took some time to do.

Allow me to say there is absolutely nothing sinister about the way Alex is acting.

Tim said "you look so dramatic" because the flashlight was hitting Alex at a weird angle. It was a joke.

About the "movie guy" thing, that seems like too obscure of a phrase to be said twice coincidentally. Maybe Tim has been watching the tapes.

Maybe the next TTA video we get will be what happened after the tape ends :U

I don't remember Big Op appearing in 22.

I think Toadbert meant #23.

It was Jay being teleported (at least, that's one way of reading it) in #23, rather than Oppy moving himself. It seems like the two kinds of 'teleportation' work differently?

When the Operator zaps between places, there's always a strong burst of distortion which covers his entrance/exit (like a ninja smoke bomb). When Jay gets teleported in #52, #23 or the one where he's in his apartment there's almost no extra distortion (there was a lot in #52, but I assume that was background distortion from Oppy being in the room).

My interpretation has been that the operator can teleport using recording devices, and this allows the operator to teleport in time as well as space. What's chronological for Alex, Jay etc isn't necessarily chronological for the operator, so in enttry #37 the operator went back in time, and hasn't been stalking Alex for years from the operator's point of view. As filming became cheaper/easier, it became easier for the operator to stalk people.

Then again there may be no reason to think that the operator really stalked Alex in his birthday party at all. It has a crudely drawn operator symbol on it, so it was uploaded by totheark and we can't really trust totheark to be a reliable narrator.

This OOG thing just hitted me:

We all complained the lack of movement Oppy had in S2. And now, in S3, they came with this. Just a leg moving at super speed. Just that.

Troseph gave us what we wanted without giving us what we wanted. It takes some skill to do that. We should congratulate them on that one.

I was listening to the Marble Operator podcast, and heard a phrase Tim used that I missed before: "So what's the deal with all this stuff? The whole pointing your camera at everybody's face." That could mean that Tim has seen Jay doing it to people other than Tim - so either Tim is consciously following Jay, or Tim has found Jay's videos.

Tim would have reacted more like Jessica, asking why Jay was waiting for him in front of a private hospital with a camera. It's just a hunch, but the phrasing on that seems telling.

I'm assuming you meant Entry #12.

I'm confused. He only appears once in #23 and he reaches for jay and it's assumed that he grabs him. Jay is the only one who teleports in that entry.

Also I had a neat theory: what if Tim didn't remember anything, but somehow found Jay's youtube channel and that's how he's realizing he is masky, and he doesn't want to watch the tapes he gave jay because he is scared of what he'll find

o_o It could make sense. Like if he did an internet search or something to see if Jay was looking for more actors to complete the movie (again) and he found the YouTube channel and started watching and ohgod. That... Could be terrifying. It could also explain why he was so willing to get rid of the tapes...

Damn...that WOULD be a twist!
