I feel for this series, that getting rid of both totheark and Alex is what is going to make the operator go away. The operator doesn't really bug Jay unless he's bugging Tim or Alex. In the woods, which was Alex's hang out, the operator showed up and was like "GTFO Jay". Then the operator was protecting Alex's house and probably Alex which he did again by wiping Jay
s memory. Then he comes after Jay when he gets Tim's medical documents, but then again we don't know whose footsteps those were. I think the only reason Jay is affected by the operator is because he is there and around Tim and Alex. I feel more of the extreme stuff has happened with Alex and Tim and Hoody. Who knows...something might have happened to whoever hoody is as well.

Pretty sure Hoody is TTA is Brian, who is Tim's childhood best friend. Anyway. There was that time when the Operator came into Jay's room at the end of season 2

but that could have very well been to protect Alex, since Alex just tried to murder the two, 0-town was like "Nope can't have them doing anything about that" and wiped their memories.

How do you defeat him? Just give him twenty bucks and he'll go away.

Nice necromancy...

Though, I can use this as a moment to talk about the first theory I had about the series, spawned by Alex's and Jay's obsessive use of cameras.

As I watched the first few entries over a year ago I always had some underlying thought that the presence of recording technology, i.e. anything that can capture TO's picture, somehow limited his capabilities. I dismissed this theory later in my viewing, but lately I've thought about it as an explanation to why the Operator is not able to kill or severely affect anyone who is recording him, as Jay was in his clutches multiple times (although the reality may be that the Operator simply did not want to kill at those moments).

In addition to this, I always thought that Masky's mask was some sort of ward and that Hoody additionally found some way to fend off the Operator.

It's an interesting topic, but in the end I feel that the monster-fighting/hunting is mainly specific to the EMH universe.

Actually I think it is more likely that Slendy just doesn't attack or kill people. We have never seen him do it at all. We have just seen him be reallllly creepy and wipe people's memory. I think that he hates being known.

You don't think what he did in Entry 52 was an attack?

No, I personally think it was defense since Jay ran into him

I don't think we've ever seen the oeprator actively try to hurt someone. The closest is entry 14's blood on the face, but that can just be an attribute of the sickness which he may not cause intentionally

Do I think we'll ever see the operator defeated? no. would it be nice? sure, but it would have to be done in a non-cheesy fashion. but until he directly tries to harm someone he doesn't seem very hostile to me. what if he's just a creature not used to the earth and he's just getting attached to the humans he's made contact with, kind of like how a pet will always find its way home

And mind-altering isn't an attack on someone's consciousness? I guess you guys don't think all the brainwashing the Church of Scientology does is attacking people's personal rights, either...

Duuuuude calm down.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It's fiction
Of course CoS is crazy. We are just saying that MAYBE The Operator isn't being malevolent. Not that there aren't negative, if not lethal effects on their psyche. (Though most of it comes from their fear and paranoia.

The Operator is definitely malevolent. He uses people as proxies to make them kill each other and then teleports their bodies back to... wherever. If you want my honest opinion, he's feeding off the souls of the people who are getting killed.

But we have no proof he is malevolently making them do that. Maybe he is harmlessly following them and their paranoia makes them do crazy things. It would be interesting if all the crazy things they do is a psychological thing and not a magic slendy-power

You know, I'll concede that it's not actually proof, but when MH was conceived of, there were a lot of stories about Slenderman murdering people, forcing people to murder other people, & taking corpses away, sometimes to do weird things with them.

Annnnd brought it back to an actual theme in the show. Would be interesting if Slendy needed to be burned because he was never burned on those trees (assuming he is a ghost of sorts). This would explain all the fire references (and maybe why Jay's apartment building burned down: TTA/Masky was trying to kill TO who was there looking for Jay, and TO got out (which is why he was outside the building on the news) ALSO, it brings the awesome phrase above to life. "Got a terrifying entity stalking you? KILL IT! KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!!!"

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Well if anything, I think TO WAS stretched out in the late 1800's and the tree was burned (hence his long limbs and lack of face). -Entry 38 He either survived the entire event or came back from the dead. Also, TO was *not* outside of the apartment on the news...this theory has been debunked several times so I won't bother. Just based on the amount of content we've seen regarding TO, I would expect his demise (if possible) to be related to the tunnel or filming him.

Entry 38 was in no way an origin story. It was OOG confirmed as foreshadowing of Entry 50, and a damn good job at that.

it is so simple people. you just call chuck norris, tell him to play slender, and he will win it, and decide to kill slender in real life. of course chuck norris can kill slenderman in slender. duh.
