Good, I was hoping we'd spread out into city-specific threads. It'll make coordinating this thing much easier.
Deadboy619, will you keep your first post (the potential operative list) updated as people continue to confirm availability?
Other obligations have kept me from being active on the forums lately, but I've been playing along since day one. I'm thrilled to see so many other San Diego folks participating. There have only been a few of us at 42E events over the years.
As I said in another thread: Per past 42E events, we should see the full list of 16 cities when the countdown runs out. Their usual pattern is to have 3 or 4 cities go active at a time, hour by hour, east coast to west coast. Meaning: we Californians should have some time to watch what's happening elsewhere and plan accordingly. That said, if they decide to mix things up this time, I'll be ready to run at 8:00 a.m.
And if it turns out that San Diego isn't included, but there's time to make it to L.A., I'm racing for it. I'll take anyone who will fit in my car with me

One thing that has me a little worried is the lack of true IMAX screens in the San Diego market. I would imagine that, if this is leading to a prescreening of the movie, they would want it to be in a full-on IMAX theater like Irvine.
Personally, I'm seeing the movie on opening night at my local Edwards, which has a converted not-quite-IMAX screen... a place that has great audio, just not the mind-bending visuals you expect from IMAX.
That said, if this is a ground-based scavenger hunt for bookstores that Kevin Flynn would have signed at, I'd say downtown SD is probably the place to go. There are Borders and Barnes & Nobles all over the place, too (in fact, two in very close proximity to my place of work)...
Random Idea: We could convene for a quick strategy talk on Wednesday morning? 6:30 or 7:00 am at a local Denny's, so we're ready to bolt if necessary when the countdown ends? Or do people want to be at their computers at that time?
Alternately, wanna arrange for a meeting place (or two) for when the 8:00am message chimes, if we do have a chance to discuss before the hunt is on?

As I said before, I'm ready to join in the fun if it does go down in SD. I don't know if I could do it in LA, but if it does, then good luck to all of you. In the mean while, are we deciding where we are meeting for those who will have to meetup in the afternoon since I have college classes.

I'm in...! My boss said I could come in 2 or 3 hours late that day... so I'm hoping we can solve it in that amount of time. I work in Mira Mesa, so I could cover that area. Can't wait... should be a blast!

Is your roommate down to drive or will you be "borrowing" his car?
