 Unfiction Sidebar Accessory

Here's something I've been playing with, a search bar for IE or Mozilla with all of the official Unfiction online tools and web resource links listed, along with google and whois queries. Just follow the instructions here.

Let me know if there's anything you'd like to see added, removed or changed. It's relatively easy to update. Smile

Obscure Computer Codes

Here are a few more obscure computer codes you could add:

5-bit Baudot: http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baudot_code

Baudot code was used primarily for telegraphy in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and survives today mainly among HAM radio operators.

EBCDIC: http://www.room42.com/store/computer_center/code_tables.shtml

EBCDIC (pronounced EB-SEE-DIC) Extended Binary Coded Decimal Interchange Code - developed by IBM in the early '60s prior to the standardization of ASCII - still used on older legacy mainframes.

Hollerith Punch Cards: http://www.cs.uiowa.edu/~jones/cards/codes.html

Developed by Herman Hollerith to expedite the 1890 US Census, punch cards were used extensively until the 1970's. There are several different forms of encoding.

I was just trying to organize my ARG tools links and stumbeld across SpaceBass's tool bar. Awesome. This tool bar rocks. Thanks Mr. Bass Sir.

just picked it up and flel in love. Going to be one USEFUL tool all around! I also learned a code challenge I put up 20 years ago is merely a Vigenere coding, and the key I used back then as a thousand dollar challenge was the opening chapter of the book Tom Sawyer.

My only gripe here is that while each function goes to another webpage to get the functions, they dont always stay working. File vault under encryption is down, for example. Maybe with permission of each author, the particular function page can be mirrored to Unfiction.com and referenced there?

This will help make life easier, coding is something I always suck at....

I've just stumbled upon this and I can see how valuable this resource is going to be to me. I can't thank whoever made this enough!! One little question...... Is there going to be any new updates for it as at least one of the sites didn't work when I just checked. Also I assume that some of the ARGs are not up to date and have probably ended by now.....

I'd love to see that tool being continued! Is there anyone out there more familiar with programming than me and willing to do this?

What I did awhile back was use This Toolbar Link then add it to my favorites list. It's a Cool tool.
