[OT] Rideshare/Carpool to Encom Press Conference setup a ride share to the event on the 2nd Don't know if this against the rules to ask here... hope its not... but anyone in the Los Angeles area want to carpool to the event on the 2nd? Send me a PM...
Furthermore, if anyone else wants to go but can't afford the costly to drive alone to maybe this would be a good opportunity to contact others and set up a similar ride share...
Use this format to list what you can provide;
Vehicle: (Vehicle Type w/ Avail Seats. MPG)
Location: (Where You Are)
Place to Stay on Arrival: (Y/N)
Can Contribute to Travel Costs: (Y/N)
... And finally, I'll be brining my badge, but do you think that if I bring a badge-less +1 they'll get to participate too?

Place to Stay on Arrival: not sure, maybe.

Looking for someone with a 4 seater (more people less cost) and possibly a place to crash for the night of the 2nd.

Have been talking to a few other people about ride share. Unfortunately just at the moment I can not contribute a vehicle as mine is on its last legs and I have not yet purchased my new one, It just wouldn't be safe to take it on that kind of drive. However, I am fully willing to contribute for gas and such, and It is HIGHLY probable I will have a place for me and a couple others to stay for little to no cost. I am in the sfv and my only problem is I have to be back here by saturday night as I have been unable to get my sunday work shift covered.

this is a fear of mine as well as i'll almost certainly be bringing my badgeless g/f (unless her badge shows up soon.
I think even if we take multiple cars we should meet up and caravan if its convenient. if not, maybe we can all meet up in SF. when do you all plan on leaving?

sent an email to the PR email address asking if badges were necessary, this is what the response was;
Thank you for your interest in interviewing Alan Bradley at the San Francisco Encom Press Announcement at 8pm/PST on Friday, April 2nd. Due to overwhelming response, we will not be able to accommodate all requests, but will review the details below and get back to you if appropriate. While advance RSVP isnt necessary, it would be helpful to know if you plan on attending. If so, please respond with your name, outlet, and email address.
We appreciate your patience and, again, thank you for your interest

I got that auto response previously as i posted before, however i noticed the chance of rain and inquired at that address about rain and got no response. has anyone emailed the PR address more than once and gotten the same auto response twice? i'm wondering if they arent just cataloging those of us who email the pr address for something...

Retox,
Thanks for the note. Yes, guests are welcome (the event is open to the public), but there should be a special section for Encom Employees (best viewing) for the event. I understand that there has been a influx in new employment in recent weeks. New employees are welcome, regardless of whether or not they have yet to receive their official documentation. As you know, this is a big day for Encom, and employee representation ensures success.

This was a really cool idea! I think it should be stickied so we can use it for later events.
Think about it, there are a lot of us fans out here and the whole idea of carpooling and even hotel cost sharing would be a great asset for future live events. This would be a conveinent place for us to come up with a game plan and connect with other fans who want to come out but can't do it due to finance or lack of a car.
I won't be able to come out to the SF event due to high expenses on hotel rentals and air faire. (Not to mention cost of cab fare, food expenses related to wild partying, etc... coming from Louisiana to ANYWHERE is expensive these days )
Thoughts anyone? How can we make this idea a reusable one?
