Hmm, well we now have a background for a person on Wongmo's site. She mentions that she is getting good at deciphering music; maybe someone should try and decipher hers?

to marauder - np most likely means now playing, in which case they are songs (song, artist)

And I like how Ethan and Dina (missing couple) think that they're convos are private here...

EDIT: "There is no cow level" -- a quote from Blizzard computer games, such as StarCraft and Diablo II.

Huh...the two pictures of the city (which city? Chicago?) are named Bach and Brahms. Strange...Dina's nod to her music favorites, or something more?

Ah goddamn, here we go. This is why the PMs were mad, because we didn't get the simple dina.thenekodas.com thing. God I feel dumber, if such a thing is possible. Well, cracks knuckles, up all night time.

np = Now Playing
It's the music she was listening when she posted the entry.
If anyone is interested, here's the lyrics for Fiona Apple's "THe Child Is Gone":

Darling, give me your absence tonight
Take the shade from the canvas and leave me the white
Let me sink in the silence that echoes inside
And don't bother leaving the light on
'Cuz I suddenly feel like a different person
From the roots of my soul come a gentle coercion
And I ran my hand o'er a strange inversion
A vacancy that just did not belong
The child is gone

Honey help me out of this mess
I'm a stranger to myself
But don't reach for me, I'm too far away
I don't wanna talk 'cuz there's nothing left to say
So my
Darling, give me your absence tonight
Take all of your sympathy and leave it outside
'Cuz there's no kind of loving that can make this all right
I'm trying to find a place I belong
And I suddenly feel like a different person
From the roots of my soul come a gentle coercion
And I ran my hand over a strange inversion
As the darkness turns into the dawn
The child is gone
The child is gone

It's the eighth song on Fiona's debut album "Tidal"
Finally someone that has good taste in music Wink

Those of you who played (or still play) Starcraft might remember the cheat code "There is no cow level" If you enter this cheat code you lose the game. This probably hinders your investigation, but just thought I'd point that out. Well, back to discussion.

The first half of the quote from Dina's main page is from Emily Dickinson.

Poem 102: “Sweet Sue, There is no first, or last, in Forever— It is Centre, there, all the time—”

[Edit] Sorry, it's the whole quote.

Sweet Sue,
There is
no first, or last
in Forever -
It is Centre, there,
all the time -
To believe - is enough,
and the right of supposing -
Take back that
"Bee" and "Buttercup" -
I have no Field
for them, though
for the Woman
whom I prefer,
Here is Festival -
When my Hands
are Cut, Her
fingers will be
found inside -
Our beautiful Neigh-
bor "moved" in May -
It leaves an Unimportance.
Take the Key to
the Lily, now, and
I will lock the Rose -
(Open Me Carefully 102)

I found this, strangely enough, only here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/EmMail/message/434

Thanks to the fact that my brain retains trivia like you wouldn't beleve (And yet I can't actualy remember anything important 90% of the time), The phrase "there is no cow level" actualy refers back to the first Diablo game. There was a huge rumor on the internet involving some incredably complecated actions that you could get to a cow level. This was debunked in starcraft by having "There is no cow level" as a cheat code. In Diablo 2, there actualy was a cow level.

See http://web.archive.org/web/20000711055452/www.cowlevel.com/barn/overhere.htm for more details.

yes there ARE stupid questions...

excuse my ignorance, but what's a "regex search".... is it significant that her search engine has that option?

Wow... Lots of new stuff! Some of this is almost looking real...

Anyways, I posted the lyrics to all the "Now Playing" songs here:
http://s88078665.onlinehome.us/argstuff/songlyrics.htm

I'm hoping these will be of some use to someone, and may provide a clue...

Another thing I noticed: the two pictures of San Francisco (?) are named bach.jpg and brahms.jpg... I'll check em for stegging as soon as I can.

EDIT: Just changed the host for the lyrics... My other host is screwed up. Also, just noticed that someone already mentioned the bach and brahms thing... Sorry!
