[Trailhead?] Consumer Recreation Services I did a search of the forum to see if anyone had brought this up yet, but the only references I found to "Consumer Recreation Services" were old and archived (but I'm glad they pointed out to me that this is the name of the company that supposedly ran "The Game" in the movie The Game).
My tweets are protected, so people have to request to follow me. Today I woke to a request from CRSJim, whose listed name on Twitter is Jim Feingold. Among those he is following are people in the ARG world.
His website is listed as http://www.consumerrecreationservices.com/ . Going there invites you to send an e-mail to playSPLAT consumerrecreationservices.com to start playing. There is also an 888 phone number to call: 888-753-7CRS.
Viewing the source code of the page, the only thing that stands out to my mostly-untrained eye is this:

I am heading out to an appointment, so I don't have time to look into this right now, but I thought I'd post the heads-up.
Edit: Bah, I can't figure out how to get the thing I saw in the source code to display properly, but I think you can tell the text appeared in comment tags, naturally.

called the phone, straightforward voicemail for jim feingold
ETA: 1 New Montgomery Cres. is the building where they filmed the ...'final scene' in The Game.
edit: 2 New Montgomery Cres is where they filmed it.

The cathartic, if unlikely climax, is set in the extravagant, glass-roofed Garden Court of the Palace Hotel, 2 New Montgomery Street in San Francisco’s Financial District. It’s the oldest grand luxury hotel in the city and, of course, extremely pricey.
When in SF, I wanted to make sure I got a picture of the building while site-seeing

Jim Feingold is from "The Game". I'm a little slow like that.

Well, in the film CRS basically sets up crazily elaborate args. Maybe they're just trying to imply that the company is responsible for setting up the sherlock holmes one?

Those are crazy enough titles to be real.
ETA: Phone number goes to Jim Feingold's voicemail service.

I sent an email to the address for players. Did anybody inquire about a job to the other address yet?

Tempted to send in my resume...except I'm not sure whether to send my real resume or my "real" resume. Or sign up to be a player...

Hahaha, Jim Feingold is a character in the movie The Game. I sent a 'play' email and then another email from a different address to the careers one. I totally wrote it as if I was applying for the job (in game). I also included a quote from The Tremendous Adventures of M Brown by G.K. Chesterton, which was a major influence on the original The Game movie.
"did you ever, as you walked along the empty street upon some idle afternoon, feel the utter hunger for something to happen--something, in the splendid words of Walt Whitman: 'Something pernicious and dread; something far removed from a puny and pious life; something unproved; something in a trance; something loosed from its anchorage. and driving free.' Did you ever feel that?"
Game on, I was so in to this movie years ago......

I got the same reply as enaxor. I'm not surprised but I did not inquire about playing. I asked why anyone would want to play. My next question was going to be how. Cause, seriously, one of these days, someone will explain to me how someone can play a game they do not know they are playing
*runs*
why yes, i was totally hoping to be able to have a meta debate on this subject with a pm pretending to be a pm pretending to have a meta debate. we all have our kinks.
