META, I'm guessing:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

"This Site and its contents are made available by Sun Microsystems, Inc. "
Wha... Huh?!?
And...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
d. "Game" means a story based narrative that invites players to interact with the characters and asks players to help the characters solve code puzzles, decipher clues, and/or build tools to unlock more pieces of the story to solve the game’s mystery hosted on the Site.
Yeah, I'd say it's an ARG...
ETA: Uh...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
You agree that any source code You contribute to a Game...
OK... NOW you have my attention!
An "open source" ARG. This should be interesting!
ETA #2: More META...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The Twitter account for the "PIE Network" is following only one person - a participant of Jane McGonigal's SuperStruct that hasn't updated since October.

Looks pretty interesting. I registered on the website, as well as fired an email off to the infoSPLAT pietheory.com, asking for a bit more information concerning their theory, and what they think the change might be.
I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this one.
=edit=
I was curious about the coordinates on the website that are listed, 30n75w, so I punched it into Google Earth. I've attached a quick screenshot.

Interesting decision...the website registration was done by a law firm (yes, it's a real firm).
I wrote the info@ address on the Pie site because I was intrigued by the wiki's "you never know who'll answer" comment. Sent in the story about those lights shooting to the sky in Europe.

well, I haven't read the privacy policy in detail, but note a bit of BTC info:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Sun Microsystems
plus, the wording definitely appears ARGish... with a story... so... worth following at this point, IMO
eta: also, the wiki has many references to video games... could Sun be sponsoring a video game promo/arg?
buy a shirt too if you like =P

Nevermind the website! Check the "PIE Recruit Kit" Ladies and Gents... it's Open Season on Open Source. So... i signed up, downloaded the PIE Recruit Kit, and i'll be buggered with a fish-fork if it isnt NetBeans and JavaFX Production Suite!
now, if it hadnt been for my girlfriend being flu-ridden, and me being sat here at 5am (it's now almost 8am, and bloody cold!), i'd never have seen any of this, so i'd like to thank Misty Blue for sparking my curiosity.

Now this should be interesting.
I hope that I have enough technical proficiency to be able to follow along with most of the game.

This looks fun. Signed up and am currently downloading the 90MB (!) tool kit now.

Which would put it in, or near, the Bermuda triangle I guess, although that's probably just a coinkydink.

Anything with "pie" in the title is guarenteed to get my interest.
I'll download stuff when I get home. I have a techsavvy boyfriend to call on if it all gets too much for me!

You're welcome.
I am still trying to get ahold of my friend who was linked to the friend whose MySpace page led me to this. She is kind of a techy so maybe that's why she knew about it?

Sent an email off to Baron Rude:

Hi there,
I stumbled upon your PIEtheory site. I found it quite interesting and joined up. However, I have one question-- what precisely is your 'JUMP' idea? I expect it's something to do with the paranormal, but I'd like to know more of the specifics.

I got a reply this evening:
Quote:
Great questions Wülf, let me see if I can address your concerns.
1) Your theory as I understand it, pertains to certain occurrences leading up to a monumental change for the human race. How did this theory begin? How did you come to be aware of this possibility?
Baron and I became aware of this phenomenon while researching UFO visitation in history and seeing if we could find a mathematical pattern or formula to calculate or predict alien visitation. We couldn’t.
But what we did discover was that there were periods of inactivity. In trying to identify what these lulls’ coincided with, we came across a pattern not based on numerology but scientific achievement.
2)On the front page of your website, you mention the word JUMP. However, there appears to be no definition for what it means? "Another JUMP is coming and we need your help."
The ‘JUMP’ is a pattern of visitations that culminates in a significant scientific breakthrough or advancement. At least it has so far…
What do you suppose the next massive change is going to be?
I have no idea, no one does and that’s the exciting part.
3)Do you have any idea in the direction it might be moving? And if not - why would we want to encourage a change that might be incredibly detrimental to life as we know it? Just because a change is coming, doesn't mean it's a good one.
What information do you have that suggests the change will be worthwhile for humanity?
Well, historically, the evidence we’ve compiled in our timeline
http://pienetwork.wikia.com/wiki/PIE_Network_Wiki
strongly suggests that previous Jumps were positive for humanity. But your skepticism is encouraged and welcomed.
Baron and I created the network to track, analyze and witness the Jump. If the community believes that this phenomenon is detrimental to humanity then we’ll pool our resources to stop it.
Thank you for your questions. This is the exactly the kind of critical thinking Baron and I need in P.I.E. I hope people continue to questioning the possibilities.
Your pal,
Hector
A lot of the questions admittedly were asked before I thoroughly searched the site - but it was cool they answered them anyway.
Sorry for the length..
