Is it sad that I considered hopping a plane for this? And that I would have had I not already set up a vacation to start on the day prior?
Good luck NYC folks, I'll be spending all my days off work staring at these boards.

So tommorow is the day, and we need a meet-up point and time. I think 2:00-2:30 is a good time to group up so we can head over to the basketball court/volleyball court/mystery X location together. Any suggestions? I really don't know the layout of the park that well since I've only been there once before. Maybe the fountain? Or Cleopatra's Needle?

Cleopatra's Needle makes the most sense to me.
To those who aren't familiar with Central Park, Cleopatra's Needle/the Obelisk is right behind the Metropolitan Museum of Art. As shown here: http://www.centralpark.com/pages/map-it/maps.html
I'm hoping to arrive sometime between 2:00 and 2:30, but since I have friends who happen to be going into NYC on the same day, I'm hitching a ride with them, and not sure precisely when I'll get there.
For added fun, identify fellow TIMMers by having the following dialogue exchange:
"The weather's really nice today. I'm sure you know what I'm referring to."
"Yeah. The GoDSEED fragments are pretty quiet compared to yesterday at noon."

Jumping for Joy! I'll be there tomorrow! Yay! I'm bringing my video camera, but I hope other people do, too, because if whatever happens goes on for a long time, I'll have to leave to be back to Jersey by 5pm.
I'm not picturing a scene with the rebels handing off a package and then Worker running in to scare us all away!
Can't wait!

I've printed a copy of this version of the map overlay ( http://mymilwaukee.wikibruce.com/images/3/31/CentralParkMap-4.jpg ). Can anyone recommend a version that doesn't include Central Park in the background? Not strictly necessary, but might be nice to have both.
EDIT: I've also printed off a copy for myself of Milwaukee: A Reasonable Haven to serve as my stalwart companion--and, if necessary, solid fuel--as I make my way to the basketball courts. If anyone else who's attending would like a photocopy, I can run one off if you ask in the next 15 minutes. Just let me know.

Great to see some confirmation from the PMs ... looks like it's actually going to happen!
Don't think I'll be able to meet up before heading to the courts at 3, but can't wait to meet everyone.

xposted in the russo thread, some more confirmation:
I just called the MTC and got Joey. I asked him if the event tomorrow was officially sanctioned by the Tourism Commission and he sort of started mumbling, "is the event officially sanctioned, is the event officially sanctioned ... have to check my records ..." and then I could vaguely hear another voice in the background. Joey shouted, "I can handle this, Russo!" just before Russo took over the call. Dude sounded pretty rough. Told me that there "was no event." This took me aback some, until he clarified, in a roundabout way (paraphrasing here): "There is no event, not in any official or sanctioned manner. But there have been a lot of rumblings ... about some map pieces ... some coordinates ... now there is no event, but if you were to GO to the LOCALE on the map pieces, HYPOTHETICALLY, of course ... and there were people there ..." and so on. At this point there is some yelling between Russo and Joey, hard to make out. Russo calls Joey a cocksucker. Tells me he's been on his deathbed for four weeks. I ask him if he's okay, and he tells me he's fine now. I sort of get the feeling he's going to end the call now, so I ask, "Real quick, Mike--should I be afraid of the rebels?" He answers point blank: "No." I say something like, "wow, that was to the point" and then there's more yelling and the call disconnects.
Wish I had the capabilities to record the call, but alas. He definitely stressed that there is officially no event, but there is an event, and that people should go to it. He also mentioned that he'd been on the phone all day with Blackstar due to all the rumblings around this hypothetical, nonexistent event.

Alright, I guess the official meetup is as follows:
Where: Cleopatra's Needle in Central Park
When: Between the times of 2:00PM and 2:30PM EST
We'll head over to the basketball courts from there at around 2:30, to make sure we have time to look around in case we don't have the location exactly right. If you can't make it to the meetup beforehand, go directly to the basketball courts.
