Chillin' in IRC chatter
My good mood these mem'ries to shatter
One hears Melissa's goodbye
All I can hear is Jen's final cry
And I think "do these words even matter?"

An indescribable scream I release
My torment I hope I can cease
And then conflict comes in
Bringing creativity, its kin
And I pray "can this writing give peace?"
