[STORIES] [TRAILHEAD] We Tell Stories
New ARG from Six to Start (Adrian|Dan Hon/James Wallis)

Announcement here:

Quote:
What has a grin and six tales?

Six to Startís first ARG, thatís what. Weíve been working on this for a while, and itís looking good. Iím really pleased to have a new project announced after all this time, and without promising too much, itís going to be fun. If you like stories, youíll like this.

Links to http://www.pengrin.co.uk/:

Quote:
Alice was very nearly getting up and saying "Thank you, Sir, for your interesting story," but she could not help thinking there must be more to come, so she sat still and said nothing. Alt text of the image is: "I'm getting tired of this. I vote the young lady tells us a story"

RSM: Eric Harshbarger works at Mind Candy. The people behind Six to Start (Adrian Hon, Dan Hon, etc.) worked at Mind Candy. Eric Harshbarger started an excellent rabbit hole for his (canceled with no explanation) Alice Is Lost CF. Pengrin teases with Alice and a comment about wanting more after an interesting story, which is what many of the folks (myself included) following AliceIsLost felt (it died weeks before launch, apparently, after the initial trailhead had finished).

I've started lurking in #pengrin on irc.chat-solutions.org.

EDIT: Moved to News & Rumors, which is the place to post about new games -xnbomb

[This may be a bit premature, but I think that this deserves a sticky. ~Rekidk]

[EDIT] Unstickied and moved to Potentials --Giskard

Note that the posted image of the Cheshire Cat has been modified to have six tales. The original image is here (and many other places, I'm sure -- it's well-known). As for the name "pengrin", it's probably a play-on-words - there are six (pen suffix; pentagon et. al.) tales (tails) to be told, perhaps by the Cheshire Cat (as opposed to Alice, since she's the listener in the original blurb). The Cheshire Cat, being a magical/fantastical beast, is well-within the realm of ill-reason to manifest six tails. [EDIT] There appear to be letters at the bottom of the trunk; they don't appear in the original image. [EDIT AGAIN] Looks to be the same signature as the one in the bottom right of the larger/original image.

I signed up. If you look closely, the cat has 7 tails with only 1 that looks to be his. not sure what the other 6 are, tails or some creature behind the cat.

the title of the cat.jpg picture says

"I'm getting tired of this. I vote the young lady tells us a story"

Not Mind Candy this one - definitely SixtoStart which is what Adrian and Dan Hon skipped merrily off to do after leaving Mind Candy.

Morbus - isn't the pen prefix five rather than six? Pentagons having five sides?

[Edit] And Pengrin looks to be a play on Penguin - see their blog and SpaceBass' post here

Mikeyj: Ugh, yes, you're right. I'm a retard. That makes perfect sense now.

"I'm getting tired of this. I vote the young lady tells us a story" is also from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, namely from the Mad Tea-Party scene

Hmm... "Pengrin Books (Wonderland), 6a Black Square, 12345".
This was in The PuffinCyclopedia of Children's Classics, and looks like as if you moved the page while it was photocopying.

This was on Page 102, if that helps.
