So we've got an encoded message from Yori in the page source, and no access to the site itself yet. I've scoured for other links, but so far found nothing. I sent Yori one last e-mail, pretending to talk about music while PLAINLY asking her about the message and the website. That way her 'corporate censors' shouldn't stop her from replying, I hope.

Funny, I tried translating with Babelfish before and didn't really get anything. Now I get a few different translations. Babelfish comes up with 'mechanic' while another site has "(1) (abbr) mechanical; (2) mechanism; (3) mechanic." Funnier yet is Google's translation - "Mechagodzilla" Very Happy

Looking it up in image search turns up a ton of Mecha anime sites.
EDIT: Duh, I should have sounded it out (me-ka = mecha).

Katakana English is almost harder to learn than Japanese. No worries.

Sounds interesting. I speak German, so if anything like that comes up, I'll be on it. Smile
FYI, the "mecha" thing could be an allusion to the nature of the German corporation. Germany is super industrial, and uses robots in a majority of its manufacturing plants. Volkswagen too, if she was referring to the Beetle car.

nope, my mistake. MrToasty is correct: meka = mechanism short for mekanizumu

Just got an e-mail back from Yori. We talked 'music' again.

I am honored that you liked the song. I love old songs too, what do you think of this one? It has a meaningful message, but also listen to the lyrics of the song. Is 2 am right now, I should go to sleep, perhaps tomorrow I shall go feed some of the koi that live near my home.

I am happy to have made a friend in the United States.

We've got our work cut out for us this time, there is a LOT of morse code in this one, and it's a lot more obvious than the last one. I'm awful at transcribing these things, but I'll do my best. Hopefully one of you cracks it before I can. I'll attach the file.

Wow. I can upload another isolated mp3 again if that helps. Not sure how much I can do at work right now. Looking at the waveform was the easiest way to do the last one.

A little Googling for "enyo project" (yes, quoted) yielded only 2 results, of which this one seems peculiarly relevant:

Perhaps somebody's idea grew to something a little big bigger?

Translating the name of the file again: 天沼矛: wasn't sure on this one, so I checked Babelfish. It says it's "Amunama halberd". Sounds tied to mythology, although I'm not familiar with the name.

Ah, thought that was a little odd. Found something a bit more authoritative that sounds a lot more familiar. Amenonuhoko - a pole used in the Japanese creation myth to create land.

Meaning "vengeance" might be referencing Izanagi's decision to kill his daughter out of anger at his wife's death.

Or a song title could just be a song title.
