I used this site:

http://www.paulschou.com/tools/xlate/

this is hex:
Quote:

copy and paste it into the square that says 4 [ HEX ] above it, then click on the decode button underneath it and read the answer in the first square the one marked [ TEXT ]

This one is decimal

copy and paste it into the square that says [ DEC / CHAR ] and click the decode button underneath it. once again read the answer in the [ TEXT ] square.

handy little tool to have in your bookmarks/favorites.

Also, good solves Sylvia, and thanks for the new resource--I've never seen that one before but it looks useful! Smile

December 30, 2006

So, I was working on my project, when I got the email.

Quote:
"Hey Everyone, I'm having my annual Hot Nights Party! Everyones invited! Just bring some rubbers, and booze, and you're in!

Love xoxoxoxo~~Jennah"

My first party. I actually had to put down the radio. I was never invited to parties. I wasn't exactly the popular type. Actually, I was more of a loner then anything.

But thats besides the point. Today was the party, so I quickly turned off all the radios, and snuck some of my parents booze out of their liquor cabinet, and got ready.

Inside, I felt like I was going to explode with nervousness. I didn't know anybody who was going to the party. Why should I go? I'm nobody. Well, nobody now. Soon I'll be somebody, and this party could be the perfect place.

I arrived at the house at 8PM, giving me just 4 hours if I wanted to do this right. I left my bag outside the bushes, and walked in.

Thats all for now of my story. Once you figure out the code, I'll give you more of a tasty treat.

I really hope this is not an X-rated game, because it has good potential and I wouldn't want to be used to advertise for such stuff. So, it's time to TRY and break that code.

Wondering what the point of this is. There's not much of a curtain though the small story is somewhat interesting.

I got it!

The text seemed really pointless, so I put it through the translator that was linked above, and I got this in the base64 box.

I think part of the PMs message was lost in translation though.

Youre a legend! thats been bugging me all day!

Although, isnt the reason it all hasnt translated, something to do with it being base64 and there is 96 numbers?

Edit added more info.

Good job, puppets. Now the rest of my story.

I walked into the party, and instantly closed my eyes. I didn't want to see all this human filth performing sacred acts like they were nothing. I walked the halls of the house, drunk slobbering messes falling about, like marionettes without their strings. I ducked into one of the rooms, with no one in it. I locked the door. I thought, "What was I doing here? I shouldn't be here. Theres no point. I'm just nobody. " I sat down in front of the computer, and laid my head down, thinking no one would know that I was here. I decided to start the project. I opened the window of the room, and pulled my bag through the window. I opened the clasp, and pulled out my grandfathers antique radio, and set the frequency, like I always did. Then I pulled out my device, the Frequencizer, as I had called it, and plugged it in. It need power, and lots of it, if I wanted this to work, so I disconnected the computer, and plugged in the Frequencizer. It started whirring gently, the gyros rotating and the screen blinking. I needed to find a specimen for a quick run through, so I opened the door, dinging a young collapsed jock from school inside. He was stone drunk, so this wouldn't be too hard. I took out a small pair of headphones, and plugged them in to the device, and gently secured them in his ear. I started scanning for his frequencies. It was a measly 88.8, so I tuned in. No thoughts currently, but that would change soon enough. I set the frequency to 151.151, which was what I was broadcasting my thoughts at. I started the warping, and I could feel his thoughts start to shift, to adjust to the reality I was broadcasting at. You see, playing an Alternate Reality Game is like adjusting the frequency on a radio playing only one station. Your still at the same station, but your listening to it differently. After 15 minutes, he had been adjusted. I turned off the device, backed it all away, and turned on the computer, logging in to my station at 151.151. I decided to play the "Act like a monkey" song to see if it would work. Boy, did it ever! However, I can't put too many details into what happened, because some people might realize they've been changed without knowing it. But needles to say, after fiddling around with the big stereo in the house, soon, everyone was tuning in to the same frequency. I could control them, and when I'm able to hack into a satellite radio station, there will be no stopping the frequency.

So, puppets, what do you think? Found my experiments interesting yet?
Let me know. Your new puzzle will be a key to unlocking the frequency.

"What are the letters to the book of life?"

You have a week, or the frequency will change again, and unless you adapt, you will lose.

With Love, Doom.

So, we've got a week to solve this riddle?

I wonder what that means, "book of life"?
