Morelaak, contrary to your assertion, I happened to run across a steg/de-steg client for the mac called iSteg, and I happen to like it, even though it only works for JPEGs.

Download it here: http://www.hanynet.com/isteg/index.html

Isn't iSteg for doing the hiding part, not the detecting and breaking part?

EDIT: Also, if you want stegdetect, you can install Fink (http://www.finkproject.org/) and use their stegdetect version.

I doubt anyone checks this anymore...but
Mirror, I use a MacBook Pro, but I run Windows XP (Came as OEM with my Mac) on it through VMWare Fusion (it is realtively cheap).

Then you can have the best of both worlds (or three worlds if you download Linux as well!)

Still, probably a little more involved than what you were looking for... Shocked
