Post-Game PM Chat, Part II
See above for more.

Quote:
Satire says: How much of the game was pre-scripted, and how much was on-the-fly? It seems like the fact we didn't pick up on the symbol necessitated some nudging. Was the bomb for sure going to detonate?
J. Marcus Xavier says: yeah, the bomb was always going to happen.
J. Marcus Xavier says: it was inevitable
J. Marcus Xavier says: that's why the last puzzle was impossible to solve definitively
Satire says: What if we had plowed through and solved all the puzzles, or, worse yet, became convinced that China was the culprit? Did you have some contingency to make sure the bomb still went off?
J. Marcus Xavier says: umm
J. Marcus Xavier says: not exactly
J. Marcus Xavier says: I had an overall idea of where I wanted to end up
J. Marcus Xavier says: and the phone conversations were pre-canned
J. Marcus Xavier says: outside of that
J. Marcus Xavier says: I made everything else up as we went along
Darren Knight says: Saul porbably would have just meen ignorant much quicker
Darren Knight says: im guessing
J. Marcus Xavier says: adjusting, based on how fast you guys figured stuff out
J. Marcus Xavier says: When you cracked the location of the nuclear plant in pakistan
J. Marcus Xavier says: literally overnight
J. Marcus Xavier says: I went "crap"
Darren Knight says: lol
Salsaman1991 says: I kind off almost got the china thing discovered
Satire says: I can't tell you how many hours I spent in google earth due to that and the other building.
J. Marcus Xavier says: XD
Salsaman1991 says: I suggested that AQ was a messenger for china, sending nukes to the arabs
J. Marcus Xavier says: *nodnod*
J. Marcus Xavier says: I actually wish, in hindsight
Salsaman1991 says: but didn't goas far
J. Marcus Xavier says: that I had been less explicit with the China connection
J. Marcus Xavier says: I wanted it to be a "oh THATs it" sortof thing, at the very end
J. Marcus Xavier says: but you guys picked up on the logic
J. Marcus Xavier says: and zeroed in toward China as being a big player
Darren Knight says: there were definatly ALOT of china refrences
Satire says: What WAS that other building, by the way? I had six law students pouring over google earth and Google in general at a party trying to find ANY info on that sucker. I even Skyped someone in Saudi Arabia.
Salsaman1991 says: oh, what did you think about me? I kind of got into JC's head a little bit too much with my speculation, I believe xD
J. Marcus Xavier says: the thing with the symbol embedded in the satellite map?
Salsaman1991 says: lol, you skyped someone?
Satire says: Yeah, that building with the square patches near it in Al Madinah.
J. Marcus Xavier says: You know I actually have no idea what that place is. I found it on a google maps forum and people were asking "wtf is this"
J. Marcus Xavier says: as far as the game goes
J. Marcus Xavier says: it's a storage facility for missiles
J. Marcus Xavier says: where they were refitting their warheads with nuclear material from the pakistanis
Salsaman1991 says: but as far as reality goes, it could be a coca cola warehouse xD
J. Marcus Xavier says: yeah
Darren Knight says: ha
Satire says: Were you contacted by the government or any "concerned" players regarding the subject matter of this ARG? I know other ARGs have had to explain to the FBI that there was nothing to worry about.
J. Marcus Xavier says: um
J. Marcus Xavier says: the government never touched base with me
J. Marcus Xavier says: I actually tried to notify Los Angeles FBI
Salsaman1991 says: xD!
J. Marcus Xavier says: but I couldnt find the right contact info
J. Marcus Xavier says: my ex gf was freaking out
Salsaman1991 says: of course you couldn't
Salsaman1991 says: it's the fbi xD
J. Marcus Xavier says: she was all like
J. Marcus Xavier says: "you're going to get arrested"
J. Marcus Xavier says: and I was all like
J. Marcus Xavier says: "good, it'll make better publicity!"
Darren Knight says: so was mine!
Satire says: <grin>
Salsaman1991 says: lol
Darren Knight says: she hates my ARGs
Darren Knight says: Smile
J. Marcus Xavier says: hahaha
Salsaman1991 says: I even had a nightmare about me being arrested for messing with the FBI
J. Marcus Xavier says: some people who emailed me were very much turned off by the reality aspect
J. Marcus Xavier says: I remember, I think it was Salsa
J. Marcus Xavier says: saying
J. Marcus Xavier says: "yeah dont google this guy, he's on the FBI terrorist most wanted list"
Darren Knight says: geez Salsa whats wrong with you
Darren Knight says: XD
Salsaman1991 says: no, it was someone else
J. Marcus Xavier says: it wasnt you?
J. Marcus Xavier says: ooh
Salsaman1991 says: hey, it was just a thought, dude!
J. Marcus Xavier says: it was around that pont, I was like
J. Marcus Xavier says: ummm
Salsaman1991 says: no, it wasn't me
J. Marcus Xavier says: okay this is scaring peeps too much
J. Marcus Xavier says: but I figured the "scaryness" of it would make it interesting
Salsaman1991 says: it certainly did
J. Marcus Xavier says: I mean
J. Marcus Xavier says: it's not like I put a live shell in a park full of children
J. Marcus Xavier says: which I think I heard some ARG did?
Darren Knight says: what!!
Salsaman1991 says: after that nightmare, I realized it wasn't possible xD I analized everything that had come up in the game and it wasn't that bad
Salsaman1991 says: no
Satire says: Did anything go wrong behind the scenes?
Salsaman1991 says: it was a campaign for adult wim
Salsaman1991 says: swim*
Salsaman1991 says: they installed weird TVs around the city
J. Marcus Xavier says: "AQHF is the bomb."
Darren Knight says: oh, boston
Salsaman1991 says: and people freaked out
Darren Knight says: lol
J. Marcus Xavier says: "ATHF" rather.
J. Marcus Xavier says: behind the scenes
J. Marcus Xavier says: umm
Darren Knight says: that was the best bomb incident ever
J. Marcus Xavier says: no, no major disasters behind the scenes really
Satire says: Anything surprise you?
J. Marcus Xavier says: how quick some people deciphered the puzzles
J. Marcus Xavier says: that surprised
J. Marcus Xavier says: people getting mad for me reading the forum
J. Marcus Xavier says: but that was just because I didnt know
Satire says: <grin> Not for reading. You're expected to read. You're just not supposed to let us know. Careful balance.
Salsaman1991 says: no, I think it was something cool
Darren Knight says: frowned upon, but cool
Satire says: You had a good rhythm going with the Monday drops - kept people's interest and you were like clockwork. What happened the final Monday?
Salsaman1991 says: it added to the realism of it all
Satire says: Or, I should say, the Monday before the final Monday.
J. Marcus Xavier says: That was intentional
J. Marcus Xavier says: I missed the drop on purpose, because I wanted to give the sense of "something's gone South"
J. Marcus Xavier says: and people were emailing me asking about it
Darren Knight says: it pissed me off so much tho
J. Marcus Xavier says: XD!
Darren Knight says: like it was part of my monday routine at that point
Satire says: How much email were you getting on a daily or weekly basis?
Darren Knight says: i felt like we had missed something
J. Marcus Xavier says: it varied widely, I didnt count
J. Marcus Xavier says: at some points it was impossible ot keep up with
Satire says: How many hours a day or week were you working on the game?
J. Marcus Xavier says: time was split between the ARG and producing the show
J. Marcus Xavier says: but I know I basically had to devote like
J. Marcus Xavier says: all of sunday afternoon to writing the drop
J. Marcus Xavier says: and daily checkins over the course of the week
J. Marcus Xavier says: a few hours
J. Marcus Xavier says: each day
Darren Knight says: ok, what was up about this email i got:
Darren Knight says: "So, you want to know more about Red Monday? Heh, truth be told, so do I.
me JC... I'm nobody special, just a computer tech who found his way into something he wasn't supposed to.
ou do if you found evidence of a terrorist attack in it's earliest planning stages, but nobody believed you? Welcome to my world... or something like it.
r, I've been quietly tapping into the Saudi Embassy Computer Network, watching encrypted files appear and disappear. I've captured and decoded what I can... but I know I've barely scratched the surface. Every file forms a part of a puzzle... and I need help putting all the pieces together.
d Monday is, it's obviously something bad and I know I have to stop it. But November 26th is soon, and I can't do it alone.
p?
ay.com | Gabriel"
Darren Knight says: like, 2 days ago
Salsaman1991 says: yeah
J. Marcus Xavier says: <sheepish>
Salsaman1991 says: I got that when I signed for the first episode
Salsaman1991 says: but I guess that was supposed to happen
J. Marcus Xavier says: I forgot to update the automatic e-mailer the day the show launched... you were supposed to get a thankyou message from J. Marcus Xavier... not an intro-email from "JC"
J. Marcus Xavier says: that was a foul up
Darren Knight says: lol
Salsaman1991 says: thought so
Darren Knight says: i thought so too until the zip file and i wasnt sure
Satire says: What made you decide to run an ARG?
J. Marcus Xavier says: the Zip file was the last message from JC before the bomb went off.
Darren Knight says: yeah, u said that u had never even played one before
J. Marcus Xavier says: ummm
J. Marcus Xavier says: I sortof stumbled into it
J. Marcus Xavier says: I was thinking of a way to market the audio drama
J. Marcus Xavier says: and I didnt have alot of funds
J. Marcus Xavier says: so I started searching around the web
J. Marcus Xavier says: for viral marketing ideas
J. Marcus Xavier says: I started building the countdown timer before I knew what an ARG was, though
J. Marcus Xavier says: because I figured I had seen count downs in other places
J. Marcus Xavier says: then I showed it to someone
J. Marcus Xavier says: and they were like
J. Marcus Xavier says: oh this is like ilovebees
J. Marcus Xavier says: and I was like "what?"
J. Marcus Xavier says: did some research
J. Marcus Xavier says: visited the site
J. Marcus Xavier says: found unfiction
J. Marcus Xavier says: decided I could do something like this
J. Marcus Xavier says: and the thing that would make me different than a huge ARG like ilovebees
J. Marcus Xavier says: is that I would actually communicate with the players, as a character
J. Marcus Xavier says: on a 1-to-1 basis
J. Marcus Xavier says: but
J. Marcus Xavier says: after the digg leak... that sortof became impossible
J. Marcus Xavier says: too many emails to keep up with
Salsaman1991 says: you didn't calculate the effect
J. Marcus Xavier says: not at all
J. Marcus Xavier says: so I tried to segment people into teams, based on what they were good at
Salsaman1991 says: but after all, you ended up having just us playing
J. Marcus Xavier says: hence the "tactical specalization" email
J. Marcus Xavier says: no, there were others, who played by email
Salsaman1991 says: yeah, I avoided answering that
J. Marcus Xavier says: just not as dedicated as you guys
Darren Knight says: XD
Darren Knight says: so do you plan to make another ARG at all?
Satire says: Oh - I've got one. I listened to your Silent Universe, and now Red Monday. Is there always a "Marcus" character?
J. Marcus Xavier says: hahahaha
J. Marcus Xavier says: yes
J. Marcus Xavier says: that's my thing, when writing
J. Marcus Xavier says: even if you go back to some of my work where I did not do audio dramas
J. Marcus Xavier says: but just novels
J. Marcus Xavier says: or short films I did in high school
Satire says: Really enjoyed Silent Universe, by the way.
J. Marcus Xavier says: thankyou Smile
Salsaman1991 says: I've yet to listen to it
Salsaman1991 says: I'll probably do it this week
J. Marcus Xavier says: lots of lessons learned in Silent Universe are going into Red Monday
Satire says: A lot of fun. Made a three-hour car ride pass in a snap.
Satire says: Such as?
Darren Knight says: i was avoiding litening to it but ive reconsidered after listening to RM
J. Marcus Xavier says: mostly production stuff
Salsaman1991 says: I wouldn't recommend listening to Red Monday during a road trip
J. Marcus Xavier says: yeah
Darren Knight says: yeah
J. Marcus Xavier says: dont want people crashing
J. Marcus Xavier says: Silent Universe is produced 1 episode at a time, when I have time
J. Marcus Xavier says: Red Monday was mostly done ahead of time
Satire says: Where do you get such talented voice actors?
J. Marcus Xavier says: and there is already material in the queue
Salsaman1991 says: it's a really cool thing to be able to issue such a warning at the beginning of an episode
Darren Knight says: so im guessing ur not doing the script thing
J. Marcus Xavier says: find them on the internet
J. Marcus Xavier says: not doing the script thing?
Satire says: Is Red Monday finished recording now?
J. Marcus Xavier says: yes, it's just mixing foley and scoring
Salsaman1991 says: do they actually meet with you or do they send their recordings to you by email?
J. Marcus Xavier says: voice parts are done, except for a few bit parts here and there
Darren Knight says: where u release the script for Silent universe early
Darren Knight says: you are not soing that for red monday, right?
Darren Knight says: doing*
J. Marcus Xavier says: All the voice actors are in seperate studios and send in their work digitally
J. Marcus Xavier says: no, not for Red Monday
Satire says: How do you give them direction, or do they just sort of get it?
Salsaman1991 says: I knwo I'd love to make a translation of Red Monday
J. Marcus Xavier says: there would be no way I could release 1 episode a week if I did it in the S/U style
J. Marcus Xavier says: I provide direction in the script. tone, emtoion, etc
Darren Knight says: thats true
J. Marcus Xavier says: and then I ask for multiple takes
J. Marcus Xavier says: and string the takes together that sound conversational
Salsaman1991 says: how much is the average cost of an episode?
Satire says: It comes out very smooth. Nice work.
J. Marcus Xavier says: thankyou Smile
J. Marcus Xavier says: well, I'd rather not get into financials, if that's okay..
Salsaman1991 says: that's okay Wink

Darren Knight says: Hmmm....so is this ending christmas eve?
J. Marcus Xavier says: Episode 5 is scheduled to "air" on Christmas eve, yes.

Darren Knight says: will that tie into the story at all? out of curiosity
Satire says: Knowing what you know now, are there more JMX ARG's in the future?
J. Marcus Xavier says: Definitely a possibility, now that I know the terrain a little better.
J. Marcus Xavier says: and also because now I know a few people who know ARGs
J. Marcus Xavier says: IE, you guys
J. Marcus Xavier says: so if I do ever do another ARG
J. Marcus Xavier says: expect to hear from me
J. Marcus Xavier says: because I'll probably want to tap some of you to be assistant PM's
Salsaman1991 says: have you thought of doing a spin-off of Red Monday or something like that?
Darren Knight says: yeah, feel free to through a trailhead my way or if u need actors/or spie
Darren Knight says: or any PM things
J. Marcus Xavier says: yes I have
Darren Knight says: Smile
Salsaman1991 says: cool
Darren Knight says: SWEET
J. Marcus Xavier says: cool Darren
Salsaman1991 says: would they last five episodes too?
J. Marcus Xavier says: Nothing concrete yet, in terms of length
Salsaman1991 says: on the Jericho thing. Was it a coincidence or did you find it by chance and thought of using it?
J. Marcus Xavier says: which "Jericho" thing?
Salsaman1991 says: the coincidence with the Jericho map
J. Marcus Xavier says: ah
J. Marcus Xavier says: not a coincidence
J. Marcus Xavier says: at all
Salsaman1991 says: the one that lists all the cities that were hit
Darren Knight says: didnt thay have a jericho arg out...like now?
J. Marcus Xavier says: yes I heard something about that
Satire says: Yep. Tom 2man.
Darren Knight says: i was talking to some of my friends doing that one and they thought it was a tie in
Darren Knight says: so is that phone number, a phone nu,ber for the qudiodrama, or is it yours or something. I got the RM answering machine but it was very vague
J. Marcus Xavier says: created specifically for the ARG
Satire says: I don't suppose we get the answer to the color code, do we?>
Darren Knight says: were we able to see it beforehand? because we found it the day of the audiodrama
J. Marcus Xavier says: that's the same phone number as was in the early drops from JC
Darren Knight says: o, ok. I thought that that was the answer to the zip and just tried it....i was crushed on the inside
Satire says: Why the leak of the ending before the... ending?
Darren Knight says: yeah, the video
J. Marcus Xavier says: the video?
Satire says: The flash video.
J. Marcus Xavier says: That was sortof an outside-the-ARG decision
J. Marcus Xavier says: I wanted to get the video out there on some other websites, to garner more interest before the show launched
J. Marcus Xavier says: since you guys were in "waiting" mode because JC was silent, I just put it out there so that folks who werent playing the ARG might look at it and find it interesting
Darren Knight says: but did you advertise it at all? it seems that we only found it through hounding the site
J. Marcus Xavier says: It was on SFF audio
Satire says: Was the ARG a "success"? I mean, did you end up driving people to your product because of it?
J. Marcus Xavier says: yes, it was a success
J. Marcus Xavier says: garnered alot of interest
J. Marcus Xavier says: and was a good learning experience, for me
Salsaman1991 says: and we loved it
Darren Knight says: i noticed, i heard people around the campus talking about it
Darren Knight says: that is quite unusual
J. Marcus Xavier says: you did? wow
Salsaman1991 says: well, I didn't xD
Salsaman1991 says: I sure as hell would love to PM an ARG in my country....
Darren Knight says: but you dont even live in the country!
Darren Knight says: lol
Darren Knight says: sorry, my computer posts late
Salsaman1991 says: yeah, I know!
Darren Knight says: i hate my computer with a passion, can wait for christmas, getting a new one
J. Marcus Xavier says: XD
J. Marcus Xavier says: brb guys
Darren Knight says: ok
Salsaman1991 says: 'k
Darren Knight says: so its around 3 AM by u right salsa?
Salsaman1991 says: yes
Salsaman1991 says: 2:40
Salsaman1991 says: I'm going to bed in 20 minutes
Darren Knight says: lol, i was about to say
Darren Knight says: ur crazy
J. Marcus Xavier says: back
J. Marcus Xavier says: Bleach is almost downloaded hehe
Salsaman1991 says: I've got a literature class tomorrow, and I need to type a short story and print it out
Salsaman1991 says: not really
Salsaman1991 says: what time do you usually go to bed, guys?
J. Marcus Xavier says: 1 am
Darren Knight says: well, normally 1...unless it was a drop day
J. Marcus Xavier says: except when there's a drop and I'm behind schedule Razz
Darren Knight says: lol XD
Salsaman1991 says: I go to bed between 12 and 1:30
Salsaman1991 says: but in summer I can stay up late
Satire says: I'm cleaning up a version of this chat for posting.
Salsaman1991 says: what? You're cutting the silliness out of it?
Darren Knight says: there were som big things before hand
Salsaman1991 says: that's no fun
Darren Knight says: before u came
Satire says: Oh, yeah, I missed pre-me stuff.
Darren Knight says: ill send u the complete one when we are done, then you can trim it up
Darren Knight says: so, are u really an anime geek in real life JMX
Darren Knight says: ?
J. Marcus Xavier says: eh
J. Marcus Xavier says: I enjoy some anime
J. Marcus Xavier says: I watch some of the more popular ones
J. Marcus Xavier says: Bleach, Naruto
J. Marcus Xavier says: a friend told me about Code Geass
J. Marcus Xavier says: but that's like
Darren Knight says: was there a code in that picture?
J. Marcus Xavier says: a 1 day a week thing, for me
Darren Knight says: the one on twitter
J. Marcus Xavier says: more of a sci fi guy than an anime guy
J. Marcus Xavier says: um yeah
Salsaman1991 says: have you watched Death Note?
J. Marcus Xavier says: there's a code in there
Darren Knight says: mmhmm
J. Marcus Xavier says: I've seen some of it
J. Marcus Xavier says: my ex's roomate watches it alot
Darren Knight says: can you tell us what the code it...or what we would decrypt it with?
Salsaman1991 says: I haven't watched it too much, since I read the whole manga series
J. Marcus Xavier says: um
Darren Knight says: we have been stumped with that one from the begining
J. Marcus Xavier says: it wasnt anything important
Salsaman1991 says: yeah, we sure could use help on that one
Salsaman1991 says: it was too small
J. Marcus Xavier says: yeah that was the problem
J. Marcus Xavier says: the information got lost, I think, when I shrunk it
Salsaman1991 says: what did it say?
Darren Knight says: and how was it coded?
J. Marcus Xavier says: it was morse code turned really tiny
J. Marcus Xavier says: so small the anti-aliasing mangled it
J. Marcus Xavier says: ended up making a cool pattern, though
J. Marcus Xavier says: so I posted it anyway
Darren Knight says: yeah, its my aim icon now Very Happy
J. Marcus Xavier says: XD !
Salsaman1991 says: well, I think it's time for me to go. It's been a great day (and it was great to chat with you JMX). But I've got things to do tomorrow, so....
Salsaman1991 says: see ya, guys!
Darren Knight says: see ya salsa
J. Marcus Xavier says: see ya salsa
Darren Knight says: that is scary ^
Salsaman1991 says: it is.....
J. Marcus Xavier says: XD
J. Marcus Xavier says: maybe Darren was me the whole time muha
Darren Knight says: .....theat would make sense though.....
J. Marcus Xavier says: XD
Darren Knight says: being the evil mastermind you are
J. Marcus Xavier says: oh
J. Marcus Xavier says: thats reminds me
J. Marcus Xavier says: I was Netninja42.
Darren Knight says: on the boards?
J. Marcus Xavier says: I never posted on the boards
J. Marcus Xavier says: only in email
Darren Knight says: :O
J. Marcus Xavier says: was obeying the rules
Darren Knight says: o, i was wondering who that was,
Darren Knight says: i never remembered getting any info from him
J. Marcus Xavier says: because he was a plant muha
Satire says: Heh - I KNEW it.
Darren Knight says: so u got included in all our private emails?
Darren Knight says: grrr. evil (devil)
Satire says: Naw, smart!
J. Marcus Xavier says: XD
Darren Knight says: i never noticed this but skype has really cool smileys
Darren Knight says: (emo)
Satire says: Hey, I've got one: Is J. Marcus Xavier your real name?
J. Marcus Xavier says: No it is not
J. Marcus Xavier says: just my online pen name
Satire says: Why the change?
J. Marcus Xavier says: Well, that goes back to the whole marcus thing
J. Marcus Xavier says: I dont know if you guys are interested in hearing that
Darren Knight says: sure
Darren Knight says: o, makes sense
Satire says: <grin> Well, it's either this or having to get back to finals prep.
J. Marcus Xavier says: lol
J. Marcus Xavier says: well okay
Darren Knight says: i love a story
J. Marcus Xavier says: uh
J. Marcus Xavier says: So let's go back to
J. Marcus Xavier says: elementary school
J. Marcus Xavier says: I was in a school play, called "Red Licorice"
J. Marcus Xavier says: the teacher was being cheap
J. Marcus Xavier says: and didnt want to pay royalties to the people who had written the play, in order to perform it
J. Marcus Xavier says: so she asked us to make up names for our characters
J. Marcus Xavier says: ..... but everything else in the play was the same, but this is beside the point....
J. Marcus Xavier says: I came up with the name "Malcom Xavier"
J. Marcus Xavier says: I thought I was clever
J. Marcus Xavier says: I was an elementary school kid. give me a break.
J. Marcus Xavier says: I always liked the initials "MX" though
J. Marcus Xavier says: but my real name, Julius, starts with a J
J. Marcus Xavier says: see where this is going?
Darren Knight says: howd it go from malcom to marcus?
J. Marcus Xavier says: Malcom Xavier was too much like "Malcolm X"
Darren Knight says: lmao
J. Marcus Xavier says: so I picked another name
J. Marcus Xavier says: Marc
J. Marcus Xavier says: then Marcus
J. Marcus Xavier says: as I was writing my stories in Jr. High, I would always have a Marc or a Marcus character
J. Marcus Xavier says: I even asked kids to call me "Marcus" one year, in High School
J. Marcus Xavier says: this was all because I was going through a "I dont like my first name" phase
J. Marcus Xavier says: because Julius is a rare name
J. Marcus Xavier says: relative to, well, Mark
J. Marcus Xavier says: in college, I finally got over it, and added my real first name to my pen name I'd been using all these years
J. Marcus Xavier says: Julius Marcus Xavier
J. Marcus Xavier says: but J. Marcus Xavier sounds much better
J. Marcus Xavier says: hence, the name
Satire says: Good story. I approve.
Darren Knight says: Personally, I think JMX sounds better than MX anyway
J. Marcus Xavier says: hahaha
J. Marcus Xavier says: I do too
Satire says: Alright, I should probably get back to outlining. I've got all my finals starting next week, and it won't be pretty.
J. Marcus Xavier says: hehe
J. Marcus Xavier says: yeah I should go too
Darren Knight says: ok
J. Marcus Xavier says: I'm actually getting sick
Darren Knight says: one more question tho
J. Marcus Xavier says: and as I'm typing here, I'm sneezing and coughing and whatnot
Satire says: Oh - wait, I've got another: JMX, what do you do when you're not ARGing or Audio Playin'?
J. Marcus Xavier says: go ahead
Satire says: Or are the Audio Plays a full-time job?
J. Marcus Xavier says: I do a day job as a graphic designer and web designer
Darren Knight says: alright mine is are you going ot go through with the free subscription for the knights or am i going to have to spam the geek cred contest
Satire says: Ahh, that'd explain the nice lyout.
J. Marcus Xavier says: hehe, thankyou Smile
Darren Knight says: yeah, that is a REALLY cool pic
J. Marcus Xavier says: no, I'll send you guys a password to access it
J. Marcus Xavier says: just dont put it on the web, please
Darren Knight says: no problem
Darren Knight says: wouldnt think of it
Darren Knight says: ok, feel better
J. Marcus Xavier says: I love the comment from that one guy
J. Marcus Xavier says: "Hey can someone put it on youtube."
J. Marcus Xavier says: it's like
J. Marcus Xavier says: okay, I get it
Satire says: <grin>
J. Marcus Xavier says: it's the internet
J. Marcus Xavier says: it happens
J. Marcus Xavier says: but
Satire says: That made me laugh pretty what good.
J. Marcus Xavier says: DONT POST ON THE FORUM I AM READING
J. Marcus Xavier says: I know it will happen, that's the nature of the web
J. Marcus Xavier says: but
J. Marcus Xavier says: yeah
Darren Knight says: lol, i flamed the guy via PM
J. Marcus Xavier says: not thinking
J. Marcus Xavier says: XD
J. Marcus Xavier says: it's like
Satire says: Besides the whole "It's audio, why would you put it on Youtube" thing.
J. Marcus Xavier says: posting to the Microsoft Help Message boards "How do I get a Windows Vista Hack Key to work?"

Re: End-Game PM Chat Log
Although we still don't know what's in that zipped PDF.

Yeah...
Sorry about that. At the time we were having a fire sale on new games where the PMs were all of the, "You can't tell me what I can and can't do. This is the internet!" mentality and couldn't be bothered with things like learning a little about how messed-up it can be when worlds collide.

My, "Take me off your distribution till you get half a clue." email was mostly out of frustration as it looked like "JC" wasn't listening to us.

Good job sticking it out and making adjustments to see it through. Brownie

So... On the encrypted .zip... What zip crackers are people using? I can devote some cycles to the effort.

I believe that JMX wil tell us the password in the show itself. I'm sure it'll show up. At least, that's what I would do.

lol. yeah, JMX kinda sprung it on me. Like, it was 10 PM when i got saying he would be on after 9 so i just rounded up whoever was on XD

Overall though it was a pretty sweet chat. Some parts to note:
Zip is the last thing JC sends before the bomb drops
Possibly a sequal
99% is done with the game
the 'wah' symbol is 'hidden' right under our nose

What is your Skype?

Was I the only one who got the zip?

I think the zip is the last 1%

Not too sure about the symbol though.

For the sake of my mind, did we, or did we not figure out the point of the "Wah" symbol?

We have not, really. Well, we know it means/represents "ambiguity," but we don't know why it was there. We've still also got this locked PDF, which I'm hoping those who have it have been brute-forcing throughout the lull.

Someone out there is running a cracker on that sucker, right?

I was going to send it out last night but I did not have time. Send me your email and I will tonight. Or if Darren Knight could do it for me that would be great as well.

Hitting it hard, here. (4 million attempts/second)

It's not:
Strictly numbers (Checked through 12 digits)
All lowercase (Checked through 9 characters)
All caps (Checked through 9 characters)
Mixed case letters (Checked through 8 characters)
All ASCII values from 32-122 (Checked through 6 characters)

It's taking so long, I'm gonna take a clue from the filename and reset it to 48-122 (Basically just numbers and upper/lowercase letters) and hope there aren't any spaces or delimiters in the password.
