While I have no ideas to offer, and don't have the faintest clue what the card is about, I'd just like to say I think it's great that people are still trying to solve it. It's lovely that the thread has been stirred back into life as we approach the anniversary of the finding of the cube. Good luck, and I hope one of you cracks it soon!

sorry for using your three goes, but thanks for trying them for me...
No worries. I was blanking on new ideas, so it didn't bother me in the least to try them.

Let us know if you have any new angles or ideas to try - more minds should help crack this a little faster!

we'll need allot more minds (or Einstein's) to crack this nut before wave two...
but with all the support we're getting from people who don't even have the card, we might make it before wave three...

i just remembered that on my excell file of the different molecules in the card, that it may help if you learn about the elements at: visual elements

Is there some hope for the next wave coming out then? I haven't heard anything from Mind Candy.

I think the last we heard was a decidedly vague "sometime in '08", but I'm not aware of anything definite. So yeah, there's hope. There's always hope!

yeh, when i e-mailed mind candy with a problem they told me that they've slowed down PXC for a while, because they're trying to spend most of their time on the new MoshiMonsters thing they're doing...

I know next to nothing about Perplex City.
But, I haven't seen any commentary about what's on the back of the card.
Is that spec on another site?
Stuff like:
The year (203AC)...
Is there a special year in the Perplex City story that would be known and allow for a reliable conversion of "3AC" to a 2 digit code (A ligand component, I guess) as in "20##"?
The cityscape...
It looks an awful lot like a chart to me.
Is the stuff on the back of the cards never used in solving them?

I think the card backs were going to link more into the ARG side of things, and helped provide more story rather than being anything to help with the puzzle on the front of the card.
I suppose it's possible there's something there that might help, but I don't think the other cards had clues on the back

i have solved all my cards, but this. and so far, the backs have been entirely unrelated to the solve...
i am presuming that the back of this is also entirely unrelated too...

Someone will probably correct me on this, but the only example I can think of where the back of a card was related to the solve was the S1 blue card #155 - Sadako Sasaki.

i stand back, and accept this as a correction, i don't actually own that card, so i wouldn't know...

and if anyone can find the name of the chemical that is made when you mix together all the atoms in all the molecules on this card, I'd be really grateful, coz i've been trying for weeks, and still can't do it...
Al B4 Br2 C246 Cl2 F6 H391 I N59 O84 P S6 Te Zn
to me it seems like a plasticized hydrocarbon because it is mostly made of H and C, but with smaller groups of other chemicals...
but then again, it could just be one of the repeat units of a plasticized hydrocarbon...

Seems a little crazy to me, but crazy is where we are with this card. I've used this site http://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/search/ before, it may help.

Dead end Haven't had a chance to look at this guy in a while, partially from frustration with hitting a dead end. After my initial excitement with linking ligands to proteins to lifeforms, it quickly ended up as a big mess. There are just too many many to many relationships to reveal any patterns. I tried seeing if there was any way to link the information to letters or something like that, but alas. I also can't find anything in common with anything, or any subsets.
Anyhow, here is the latest version of the spreadsheet I was using. Maybe one of you can find it useful. I'll probably take another look soon, but I'm out of ideas for now.

Oh yeah, here's a site I found that has some ligand type pathways. Thought it might lead somewhere, but now I have my doubts.

i thought about the letters of the chemical symbols, maybe the symbols can be rearranged (like an anagram) to form a sentence which could help to find the answer...
it seems a bit far-fetched i know, but we need to get some fresh ideas in (however crazy they are)...
