Online Help for Search Effort
August 14, 2006:
In response to numerous offers to help out in any way possible, we're in the process of setting up a system where members of the Aglaura IntraNet system, who are not capable of going out into the Pine Barrens and helping with the actual physical search, will be able to use the system to help monitor, analyze, and relay messages from the search parties in the woods. The searchers will be using their cell phones and wireless devices to report back in to the IntraNet as they search the woods. One major obstacle is that finding a cell signal in the Pine Barrens can be very spotty and unreliable, and there are many areas where they don't work at all.
I'm Sam Greene, the Aglaura webmaster and network administrator, and I'll be coordinating the efforts here at the municipal building, and I'm looking for people who can log into their IntraNet account and help me monitor and respond to the incoming messages from the searchers. They're already heading out into the woods (it took a while to get them all outfitted with phones, flashlights, and so on) and I'll have some more information about how it's going to work posted here shortly. In the meantime, anyone who can, please log into the IntraNet and send me a message that you're available and willing to help.
Thank you very, very much.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Search for Meaghan Sprague last night. She was found, safe and sound, due to the work of the Aglaura IntraNet users assisting the citizens in the Pine Barrens. Her parents, as well as the town of Aglaura, extend sincere appreciation to those of you who put in such hard effort. Great job!
