[UPDATE] Faith & Kriel's Meeting

New blog post for Faith (faitharella.com) about her meeting with Kriel.

---

So we've got a slew of new videos to go through. It seems Kriel grew up in a "Carnival" town where the Carnies would live on the off-season. Kriel took Faith to meet a some of the folk in the area.

He shares some of his circus background with Faith as they continue to wander about the area. He was quite the wanderer as a youngin' as he was in the carnival. He discusses how he was forced to grow up early due to being the only child in the circus. He ends the second vid cryptically by saying that there is a lady Faith needs to meet who changed his life.

Kriel brings her to a fortune teller named Madame Steff, who changed his life and helped him to go to London. Kriel belives she will take Faith "to her next step". Aparently Kriel almost died, and Madame Steff convinced him after he recovered to get out of the Carney town. Faith tells her about the symbols, and Madame Stef tells here that "there are no coincidences" and that Faith is on a special journey and offers to do a Tarot reading on Faith.

Faith gets her tarot reading and is given some cryptic messages that revolve around the fact that Faith is on a very important journey... and that something important will happen with a monkey.

Madame Stef closes by telling her that her journey will end "on a peak" near a desert and that she'll be a pillar of strength. Faith shows Steff her tattoo and Steff tells her that when she's "leaving the summit... wings aren't always visible"

And another HUGE blog post on 8/11 with a ton of videos.

Still don't see where this is a -game-, feels more like we're just reading along - following a story that is already laid out.

I couldn't agree with you more... our only interaction, it seems, is through that oculus... which just leads us to the next chapter of the story

I agree, but at least the story is somewhat interesting. The characters, for the most part, don't really create much of a connection with me, with the exception of Faith.

That said, the story did seem to kick up a notch with this recent update. Not only do we get confirmation from a (supposedly) reputable source that Faith is destined for something big, we also find out her journey is far from over, that there's some kind of monkey involved in her next lead, and we finally get to see her tattoo. All in all, I'd say it was a quality update, even if it's lacking in the game-ness aspect.

Plus, while Kriel isn't really all that charismatic IMO, at least he doesn't seem like a prick now. >.>

ditto Esteed. While we're not having a huge role in interaction or puzzle solving here, we are being given at least an interesting story to follow along...

it'll be much easier to enjoy OE without having huge expectations for interaction and 'gaming', at least at this point. a lot of the discussion, research, and study going on is actually really interesting. And I'm sure it'll only get better as Faith (most likely) travels around the world...
