[NEW SITE] Mind Candy Emergency Website

Just launched - Mind Candy Emergency Website

Current transcript is:

Quote:
The situation

On Thursday 10th August, our only data link to Perplex City was cut by the 'Third Power'. The San Francisco Connection is now the only chance we have to restore communications to Perplex City.

The opening of the San Francisco link was intended to be a celebration - a festival of puzzles set by the Perplex City Academy, for us all to enjoy. However, without the Academy to help us, the puzzles are now a major obstacle. We're currently trying to recover any instructions or possible solutions from our damaged systems.

The plan

At 11am PDT on Saturday (7pm in the UK), we'll be giving an emergency briefing both online at this website and at the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre in San Francisco, detailing what needs to be done.

We'll only have a short time - a matter of hours - before the carrier wave of the original link vanishes entirely. For that reason, we ask you to form yourselves into teams, either before the event or on the day. That way, we'll have a better chance of tackling the puzzles quickly and efficiently.

There is also an online component to the activation mechanism, here on this site. We know that it needs a set number of unique users to unlock each puzzle. This means there are two goals: solving the puzzles, and getting as many people as possible to visit this site.

If you ever want to see Perplex City again, you'll need to help on Saturday. Formidable forces oppose us, but we can and must prevail. We will show them that Earth is not so easily beaten.

Mind Candy

Looks like this is where the online players will need to enter their solves once the event begins.

/me phears teh sneeky 3P!

Just found the links myself.

The site says that it needs to reach a certain number of hits from unique addresses... Right now the main page says "1 Hit". I can't really have been the only person to visit, can I? Maybe the counter won't start working until 7pm (UK time) comes around...

There's also a section for "Clues" and "Progress" - neither of which show very much right now. I'm sure this will change soon.

chat room

"To aid your progress, it would be wise to collaborate with your fellow helpers. In order to do this, you should join the chat room called #pxcsflive on irc.chat-solutions.org. If you don't have an IRC program, you can connect online here by typing "pxcsflive" into the channel box."

Am I being really thick, but I can't get any link to the chatroom and it won't accept that web address. Whats the channel box their talking about?

Um, no...

Can a forum mod delete teraso or whatever's post? That post defeats the purpose of this thread, is an advertisement, and drives traffic to his site.
