And how I worked it out

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
F=7-4=3
E=3^2=9
M=9+1=10
R=3+9=12
P=5x10=50
N=P+R=62
A=62
X=62-20=42

I'm sure there are other ways but this was the way I did it.

EDIT: In case you can't read it in the space where a code goes is www.perplexcity.com/keyword/telegraph where you can solve the card to get points.

That where we got it.

The London live even isn't until Saturday (and we don't have the card, just a scan of it was in the paper).

I don't quite know what you mean but I THINK you mean how to solve it, go to www.perplexcity.com/keyword/telegraph and log in and it will let you solve it for points.

does anyone think that this suggests that there will be one next week too

"Already have an account with Perplex City? Sign in to solve this week's Telegraph puzzle"

or just that the puzzle was in this weeks mag?

and do the letters they chose have any meaning?

F
E
M
R
P
N
A
X

rather than x,y,z or a,b,c etc

Don't worry, was a free solve (like gravity being sent to firebox members before) but this time it was printed in the paper.

Has anyone tried puting lots of different paper names instead of the telegraph. I tried a few (mirror, sun, mail) but had no luck.

Newbie - be kind! Very Happy

The keyword doesn't work any more - get message:

I'm afraid we don't recognise the keyword you entered (it was telegraph). Please try again.

Seems the last solve was 2006-02-27 10:23:18.

Whoops.
