[PUZ][SOLVEDx2!]Mark of the Joker & Secret of the Safe

(Changed tag to [PUZZLE] and merged with the other "Mark of the Joker" thread. --Phaedra)

I did a quick Google search for Mark of the Joker and Secret of the Safe and (as far as I know) was dealt all aces.

I have entered what I believe were the answers but there don't seem to be any signs of whether or not I'm right...so here we go

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Mark of the Joker: I came up with a quote from some film saying "You have a good eye, that is the mark of the joker"..."a good eye" fits, so that's a good'un

Secret of the Safe: A quote from another film/book with a safe combination which is accepted by the box again...it won't let me put in spaces or dashes, so we get the code "4532029512"

I can't do anything else will these, so I leave it to you...

EDIT - changed topic tag to reflect "Solved" Mark of the Joker. Secret of the Safe still up for grabs. - SG

-change topic to SOLVED for both items. Smile per thunderclap8 and jsailor! - krystyn.

Are you sure that quote's from a movie and not a short story? It looked like a short story to me, on googling "mark of the joker" (with quotes).

That said, I'm almost wondering if there's a Batman connection. Of the four sites you get on "mark of the joker", one is the short story which ends by
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
naming one of the characters "Harley Quinn", the name of the Joker's sidekick in the Batman series
; the other two refer to Batman directly.

(The fourth has an embedded "commented Voissard: 'France will soon be free of the mark of the joker.'" (paraphrased from memory; you have to check the cache of that site to see it, it doesn't show up on the actual page), which looks more likely to be useful except that I think it's just search-engine-baiting. Unless someone with more web-knowledge than me can peg that site as associated with LCP.com. Smile )

Corazon

Funny, one of the characters is named Corazon, which of course is Spanish for "heart." Perfectly normal hispanic name, of course, but still an amusing choice.

Here is a page regarding jokers in poker - Not sure if it'll help at all, but hey, I figured I'd throw it out there.

http://www.msoworld.com/mindzine/news/card/mso4poker_incident.html

not sure how helpful it'll be, but it does have some "rules" regarding jokers...

judging by the language:
"If you have the Mark of the Joker"

and
"If you've got the Secret of the Safe"

i would say that these are titles or accolades to be awarded in-game

on a whim I answered "Batman" to the Joker question earlier today. Didn't seem to do much.

not sure if i need spoilers but to continue the trend:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"Harley Quinn" would be read "harlequin" which is basically a clown. an apt namefor the situation. I think there's a fair chance the two aren't associated

Actually - in Tarok the "Joker" card can also be called "The Fool"

(EDIT: Fixed quote tags. --Phaedra)
