on icarus.htm they mean 'begets' not 'begats' right?
Quote:
Light begats darkness.
Darkness begats light.
I have no idea if that is relevant to anything.
Also, I agree that the quotations from believe.htm look familiar, they sound like movie quotes, but I haven't been able to find them and have no idea where they are from. The only one I found at all is Susan Sontag's famous line "style is everything" ( which is not, "style is everything honey"). But I only had a few minutes to look around. Hope this one is fun, and drink up, me 'earties, yo ho.

my feeling is that these quotes are from books (film scripts are plentiful on the net, and indexed with google) -William Gibson / Stephenson pops into my head. I know there was a Bobby in Count Zero

15421 is actually a lower PA (just south of me, where I used to be actually) Area code.
Looked it up, it is a 'Chalk Hill' A sleepy little area with an intresting name.

Well been having a look thorugh the site.
To me the quotes on believe.htm appear to be auto taunts from an FPS game, like bot talk on UT 2004 or Halo perhaps ?
Dunno, just seems a bit like that, will try installing it later and have a look.

Edit: ok so not DnD unless your DM lets you cheat. majorly.

Searching for "15421" on Google Maps puts "Braddock Grave" park right in the middle. Spooky.

Got a response from the same user :

If only I could work out what 34kjdz98 adiasdf9 translates into....

Here's the message I got back after e-mailing him.
"He walked past the courthouse like a ghost walks in the night. His eyes were confused and lost, and one could tell that he didn't know what to do with himself. He looked over the town and sighed. He had no purpose in life anymore."
I wonder what the courthouse he's referring to is.

The first reply I got was:
Quote:
knew it it was over. Just like that, in a blink of an eye, the last mission was complete. It was unbelieveable.
After asking what the mission was, I got this reply:
Quote:
"What was your locker combination again?"
"6, 58, 105, 117. Just punch that in and it should open."
"Great, thanks. I'll return the sword in a good condition, don't worry!"
"Dude, if you don't, you know what I'll do to you!"

This is what I got:
Quote:
and it was at that moment that they began to sing... let me remember the lyrics...
"Can you hear me?
Are you near me?
Can we pretend to leave and then,
We'll meet again, when both our cars collide...."
It's from "34kjdz98 adiasdf9" [noitcurtsedSPLATgmail.com].
Edit: It seems to be taken from the song "Helena" by My Chemical Romance.

Marrec, Annuit Coeptis Novus Ordo Seclorum actually means literally "Providence has favored our undertakings( or beginnings), our New Order of the ages." It seems to that it is proclaiming that this is just the beginning of a story or game.

I just received the same reply.
Which, besides correcting the last number, which looked to us as a 47 or 97, does not make thing easier: we still don't know what to do with this numbers...

Yeh, don't think it is that important. Unless the free masons are running this ARG. *heh* And I just gave a rough translation from what I remember from latin. Novus Ordo Seclorum has been famously translated by many conspiracy theorists to mean "New World Order" which sounds all ominous and Big Brothery, but I don't think that's relevant either. Or correct for that matter.
Edit: And yeh Chippy, I also got a William Gibsony feel from the thing, but that is coincedance methinks. I actually just finished reading Count Zero and there's nothing like that in the books. But it does sound like they're getting ready for a run in the matrix. *heh*
