Odds of straight = 6/46 (8 ways to make a straight, minus the 2 that would make a straight flush)
Odds of flush = 7/46 (9 spades remaining, minus the 2 that make the straight flush

Odds of any straight or flush = 15/46 (adding the 3 other odds)

6s 7s 8s 9s are what's held..

so on the turn you've got to get 5s or 10s to make the straight flush.

1/23 chance of hitting the straight flush on the turn or river.

Actually, if she's CERTAIN the other person has bullets, it's 1/22

5c 5s 5h 5d 10c 10s 10h 10d as 2s 3s 4s js qs ks would get a straight or a flush so that's

15/46 chance of that happening on the river (assuming it's not happened on the turn. A less likely 7/22 if she's certain the opponent has two aces. Slightly lower because the opponent would be holding one of the possible outs (As)

FWIW, they shouldn't. If they do, they're never gonna be rich playing poker .. If you have bullets pre-flop, you want as few players in the game post flop as far as I'm concerned.. I'd have put him on AK, AQ or A6 or A7. Maybe even suited for the flush

cos the rest went after flop (which had an A) the chances are increased that they didnt hold As -- so greater chance that your opponant has them - but shes well stacked -- so id go for it -- never forgive yourself for missing a straight flush -- but that not based on maths but on the way humans play - and lets face it , if it wasnt for the human element computers would win at poker (which they dont)

I'm stuck here - how are there 46 cards left?

There are 4 in the middle; 2 in each player's hand (of 2 players) out of 52 to start with so there should be 44 left. This is assuming all the other players' cards have been put back into the deck after they folded - I didn't think this happened but I am not very well up on poker and, as we aren't told how many other players there were, I suppose it must have done.
