[21:40] RobynneBrewer: Jeb... Randy and sixhrstilmorning
[21:40] phorbiddenapple: Greetings.
[21:40] RobynneBrewer: need invites
[21:40] JebJoya: trying...
[21:40] JebJoya: i keep inviting them...
[21:41] RobynneBrewer: Sorry apple we're having some tech difficulties...
[21:41] RobynneBrewer: Or would you prefer I use your phull name?
[21:41] phorbiddenapple: You are forgiven.
[21:42] *** randyargn has joined the chat.
[21:42] *** sixhrstilmorning has joined the chat.
[21:42] sixhrstilmorning: good evening everyone
[21:42] JebJoya: ah good
[21:42] phorbiddenapple: Greetings
[21:42] JebJoya: success at last
[21:43] randyargn: thank you
[21:44] RobynneBrewer: So...
[21:44] RobynneBrewer: Yeah..
[21:45] RobynneBrewer: *twiddles her thumbs and looks uncomfortable
[21:45] phorbiddenapple: Please ask your questions. My time grows short.
[21:45] RobynneBrewer: Steve's nature...
[21:46] phorbiddenapple: Yes?
[21:46] RobynneBrewer: Dispite the fact that a light rain would probably set this girl off...
[21:46] RobynneBrewer: What would be unsetteling about it?
[21:46] sixhrstilmorning: or a large meal
[21:46] phorbiddenapple: His nature would upset her.
[21:46] RobynneBrewer: Yes, we've established that. But can we get a hint as to why?
[21:47] phorbiddenapple: I do not yet trust you 'Gods'.
[21:47] RobynneBrewer: Why not?
[21:47] randyargn: ....We haven't passed the test
[21:48] phorbiddenapple: You have not.
[21:48] RobynneBrewer: If you believe us to be gods... Why does Sara think we are "cultists?
[21:49] phorbiddenapple: Both terms are equally correct and incorrect.
[21:49] RobynneBrewer: There is a strange truth in that answer.
[21:49] phorbiddenapple: You are both pantheon and parish.
[21:50] randyargn: How is it bad for Sarah to find Steve?
[21:51] phorbiddenapple: You Gods are quick to care for a woman in distress
[21:51] RobynneBrewer: We're benevolent Gods.
[21:51] sixhrstilmorning: speak for yourself Wink
[21:51] phorbiddenapple: It would not be benevolent to allow Sarah to discern his true nature.
[21:52] RobynneBrewer: And discovering his location would allow Sarah to discern his true nature?
[21:52] phorbiddenapple: Yes.
[21:52] RobynneBrewer: Why roaches?
[21:53] phorbiddenapple: Why ants?
[21:53] randyargn: ...
[21:53] RobynneBrewer: Touche
[21:54] phorbiddenapple: I will make one thing clear.
[21:54] RobynneBrewer: That would be refreshing.
[21:54] phorbiddenapple: The Hateful and I are not one, but we are the same. Nearly.
[21:55] RobynneBrewer: So neither of you want Steve found?
[21:55] RobynneBrewer: By anybody, or just Sarah?
[21:56] phorbiddenapple: I do not yet fully understand The Hateful's intentions.
[21:56] phorbiddenapple: I do not believe he wishes Sarah well.
[21:57] RobynneBrewer: What does he think of Gods and Cultists?
[21:57] phorbiddenapple: He believes himself above such things. That is what you must be aware of.
[21:58] RobynneBrewer: What do you think?
[21:58] phorbiddenapple: On what subject?
[21:58] RobynneBrewer: Gods and Cultists.
[21:58] RobynneBrewer: Us
[21:58] phorbiddenapple: Yours is a stange culture.
[21:59] RobynneBrewer: Is it?
[21:59] phorbiddenapple: It is one of few in which the parish holds more power than the pantheon.
[21:59] phorbiddenapple: Sarah feeds you that power unknowingly.
[22:00] RobynneBrewer: Is that so bad?
[22:00] randyargn: Who is the Steve she is seeking?
[22:00] phorbiddenapple: It will serve her no good. She is not of your Parish. She is not of your Gods.
[22:01] phorbiddenapple: Steve is not what she believes him to be.
[22:01] sixhrstilmorning: what, is she not old enough?
[22:01] phorbiddenapple: She has fooled herself
[22:01] phorbiddenapple: It is a benevolent illusion
[22:01] phorbiddenapple: One she must be kept under.
[22:02] RobynneBrewer: And to show her a picture of the one we believe her to be seeking from about a month or more ago would shatter this illusion?
[22:03] phorbiddenapple: It would further her on the path to disillusionment.
[22:03] RobynneBrewer: Has she ever even met the Steve she is looking for?
[22:03] phorbiddenapple: I cannot answer that question at this time.
[22:04] phorbiddenapple: You must first pass the test.
[22:04] RobynneBrewer: Pardon me if I suspect that is a "no".
[22:04] phorbiddenapple: Sarah has two paths before her.
[22:05] phorbiddenapple: In one, she is jaded by knowledge. In the other, she is happy in her illusion.
[22:07] RobynneBrewer: A friend of mine once said that it's always best to "err on the side of more information".
[22:08] phorbiddenapple: You gods must take a lesson from pandora and the cat.
[22:08] RobynneBrewer: Yeah, here's the thing about Pandora...
[22:08] RobynneBrewer: Opening the box was exactly what she was supposed to do actually.
[22:09] RobynneBrewer: It's the same with the apple
[22:09] phorbiddenapple: But it did not make her happy.
[22:09] RobynneBrewer: Sometimes doing what's best doesn't
[22:09] RobynneBrewer: Just as with the apple
[22:09] phorbiddenapple: I seek Sarah's continued happiness.
[22:09] RobynneBrewer: people deserve a choice to know or not
[22:09] phorbiddenapple: Her intelligence is limited, as is her attention.
[22:09] phorbiddenapple: In time, she will forget.
[22:09] RobynneBrewer: So you hope she'll see something shiney and move on?
[22:10] RobynneBrewer: I don't think The Hateful will let her
[22:10] phorbiddenapple: That is one way to put it.
[22:10] phorbiddenapple: That is why you Gods must assist me.
[22:11] RobynneBrewer: After we pass this test that may or may not be from you?
[22:11] phorbiddenapple: Please rephrase your question.
[22:11] RobynneBrewer: You want our help... But you don't trust us...
[22:12] phorbiddenapple: There are many reasons not to trust a God.
[22:12] RobynneBrewer: So there are these tests, but whether they are from you or from Hateful is unclear... I think... Perhaps I'm just not paying close enough attention.
[22:12] phorbiddenapple: Perhaps.
[22:12] phorbiddenapple: My tiem grows short.
[22:12] RobynneBrewer: as well as your time I would guess... Smile
[22:13] phorbiddenapple: Indeed
[22:13] RobynneBrewer: I'm not one to talk about typos, I apologise.
[22:13] phorbiddenapple: You are forgiven.
[22:13] phorbiddenapple: You may ask one more question for this meeting.
[22:14] RobynneBrewer: Let me consult the rest of my pantheon
[22:14] RobynneBrewer: ... those that are listening anyway.
[22:14] randyargn: One question... WHY should we trust you enough to help you in your quest if you do not trust us enough to give us information of what exactly we're even helping you do?
[22:15] phorbiddenapple: Because as Pantheon and Parish it is your sacred duty to pursue all avenues.
[22:15] phorbiddenapple: Toodle-oo! Smile
[22:15] *** phorbiddenapple has left the chat.
[22:15] RobynneBrewer: ttfn
[22:15] randyargn: lol
[22:15] RobynneBrewer: He's right
[22:15] RobynneBrewer: We totally do that

Oh my this looks like lots of fun. I are on board, for now, at least...
What is with the roaches on the latest site? As far as I can see, they are not clickable and surely an animated gif would look the same and not make the source code look very enormous.
Talking of which, on the source, there's this:
Quote:
<OBJECT classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"
I don't know enough about embedding flash to know if that's normal or not. I do know that it looks an awful lot like hex to me...
[edit]Well, in retrospect it was a long shot - Hex-ASCII translation gives some comedy gobeldygook, so I guess it's needed for the flash to work.[/edit]

I don't know if this has any relevance *at all*, but in Discordianism, roaches are messengers of the Goddess (like St. Gulik/Hermes). Maybe you should ask him where he keeps his fnord?

I asked Phorbiddenpapple if he was a golden apple or just phorbidden...
He didn't bite
So to speak...
He the fruit of the knowlage of good and evil (so he said)... Or maybe he said he was just a fruit... I don't quite remember, it was rather late.
So he's not for the prittiest one... I think the roaches are just a spoof of the OurColony Ant logo. He said as much when we spoke in the AIM chat room. (See above.)

I think I found something...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
You'll notice that each of the roaches from the What is Steve page are a separate flash file. Looking at the source code shows that each has a different size.
23, 23, 23
3, 25, 2, 5, 24, 5, 26
14, 5, 20
If you map each of those numbers to a letter you get: www.cybexez.net
Which just happens to be a valid website talking about the Future of Humanity.
One minor problem is that this new site seems to be quite a bit more...polished than the ones that we've seen, so it's hard to say if it's part of the game or not. But for some reason I doubt it's just a coincidence...
edit: however, HHM just noticed that one of the new pages seems to hint back to an old friend from lockjaw.... curiousier and curiousier
edit: fixed misspelling of url name. its not that easy to type

The problem with this is that nobody can find any dns info for this place...

Interestingly, that image in the webage above is called

Looks like they probably bought a site template (or got one off of one of those free sites)... not that there's anything wrong with that!

And I was just reading about pie in a Perplex City puzzle. One that solved MUCH more easily than the one in Lockjaw... It really IS everywhere!
