[UPDATE] June 25 - www.salkfamily.com Now this is interesting....
Quote:
25th June: While attempting to discover the meaning of Pietro's maze, we discovered a bug in the code of the maze today that rendered later levels inoperable in some way.
We have now changed the maze code so that it is fixed, and uploaded it to this site; we are certain that it was a mistake on his part, and so you should no longer use the older version. The new fixed version can be downloaded from the same link above. We still have no idea what the maze is for or exactly how it works...

So they don't know how the maze works, but they know that there was a problem with the coding? BAD WRITING + CODING = CRAP GAME!!!

first, how did they know the maze was broke to start with? second, how did they fix it without understanding what the maze was or how it works, or seeing the messages we've found so far?
this is either really suspicious in game storywise, or a really crap excuse for an OOG mess up.
has anyone figured out what exactly they 'fixed' with the update?
rach =)

They must've figured out it was broken when I did the entire maze and found no exit
I posted my map over in the puzzle thread, and a couple hours later they posted that update. Man was i mad when i did all the work by hand (no fancy automapper tools at that point) and there was no exit.

In-Game: I assume they had someone transcribe it from PerplexCityKeyOS or whatever the keys use to Java (unless Sun is a *much* larger company than I previously realized.) Maybe they realized there was a mistake in that transcription. In most cases, it is not tough to translate things from one programming language to another without knowledge of what the program does. There are, in fact, programs out there that specifically do that translation for you. Sure the resulting code is often inefficient and bloated, but it works.
Out-Of-Game: There was probably a bug.

I am going to have to guess something with Maze 6 since 1..5 look to be the same. They probably realized that Maze 6 is infinite, so they shrunk it down to infinity-minus-one.

As mentioned in this thread the Sentinel announced today that Salk has now passed away. Does this mean he woke up again?

I know this is highly unlikely but could the below be linked (yes I am taking this literally as a Maze could also be a person. Hmm wonder when the late Salk was born?)
The Hand (January 11 - February 10)
Can't put the pieces together? Give it a little more time. There's a Maze about to come into your life -- and with a terrific Isabella Levenay bag, I might add -- who will totally help you add it all up. Make the most of it, babe.
