[SPEC] Faust

Hi all

I'm speculating like a madman today.

I've been reading up on Faust, and pentagrams and fibonacci and so forth.

It seems that Goethe used a Pentagram to trap the devil in Faust.
http://www.classicauthors.net/Goethe/TragedyOfFaust/TragedyOfFaust6.html

I wonder if there is some significance to the pentagram involved in fibonacci numbers
http://www.mscs.dal.ca/Fibonacci/logos.html

We've been encouraged to read Goethe's Faust somewhere in the game, I'm sure. It looks to me like we've been dragged kicking and screaming towars the notion that the Star (or Aleph, or Stella), and Fibonacci have a lot to do with the solution. It just seems to have been a point that's been hammered home loads of times in game. But have we actually solved a puzzle using fibonacci numbers yet?

My theory, and I know I'm not alone, is that we have to wait for some final clue to come out before we find the key to the sequence of symbols and numbers that we're looking for.

Either that, or it's already there and we've missed it completely.

Merit in this theory

Not sure how this helps us. But Bidivision is correct, a pentagram is typically
known as a method of trapping an evil spirit. Although its also used to in summoning demons. The demon is summoned into the binding circle inscribed with a pentagram, and is thus bound inside the circle. From there it can be contracted to do the summoners bidding for its release. For an example of a binding circle see: The Satanic Bible, or The Necronomicon.
I would list these two as "Book of Star"s, Though they seem to have little to
do with our puzzle, but maybe im wrong. Ive read these books from front
to back several times.

If you have seen Hellraiser:Bloodlines, one must also realize that a demon
may at any time break this agreement if the binder stands in the way of hell.
(yea its just a movie, but these are ancient rules... not just used in this one movie)

Now we have not really been told if S+S is "The Devil, Lucifer" etc. Nothing can stand in "His" way(except God). Although if this is just a soul stealing minor demon its possible to bind him to our will. Knowledge is power over him. And telling him to leave you alone is enough, so Jon tells us.

But do we really want him to leave us? We want to sell our souls for the Phat lewts! =D
lol Well just to back up Bidivisions thoughs.

PS: Im still not sure how aleph fits into this. the golden ratio fits though.
