I checked the twitter the other day and they posted a link to the video and 'Jesse is a dead man'.

KVDR stopping time makes a lot of sense though, I thought parts of the video seemed weird with everyone just standing around.

I agree, it seems odd that Greg would accept Jessie's offer straight away, but does not mention it to Chris or Alex at all, especially seeing as they gave him advice on keeping a camera around. Greg just doesn't come across as someone who would infiltrate a cult off of his own back.

Is it me or is Jacob (chief overseer) the guy who does voice overs for movie trailers?

Yeah, several series used the Operator Symbol near the beginning, but then stopped as their series continued to evolve. DH has their own symbol now, so I don't think the Operator Symbol's appearance really means anything plot-wise.

Whether it's intended to be dead serious or not, there's something vaguely classic horror kitsch about there being a "New Jersey chapter" of a silly, deranged cult of twentysomethings wearing spraypainted V for Vendetta masks. I can kind of get behind it in a crazy Larry Cohen movie sort of way, because as always, DH commits to it so completely.

I notice the video description trying to make it clear that that the second half of this latest entry is from a separate tape, which I think means to suggest there's more of a time lapse between Jesse first approaching Greg and Greg's initiation. Otherwise, he sure seems to take that shit in stride. "Would you like to know more? Then swear allegiance to Gormogogo!" Sure, why not? If there actually is a time lapse, I personally would like to see more of how Poor Dead Greg got to that point.

I do like that the hilarious comic relief - Jesse (who really was hilarious early on - at least, I liked him) - turned out to be much more integral to the plot than initially thought. No one expects the goofy guy to be the cultist.

As always, it can go anywhere.

Does the cult leader seem familiar to anyone else? At first I thought he was the guy from the Rainwood Elementary School video. After checking, though, I don't think he is. (I somehow missed the name Jacob, but even so, taking a "cult" name wouldn't be unbelievable.)
