Or something happened.... again.

Maybe Tim finally snapped, and shit hit the industrial-sized fan.

Or he was drugged and shipped out to the red tower or some shit.

Or a magic Unicorn wearing a sombrero told him to go buy car insurance instead.

I forgot about the red tower...are any of these locations actually going to prove relevant to the backstory, or are they just included for the sake of being creepy?

Red tower had a tape inside, and was where Jay woke up after the slle.p now tweet.

Tunnel of death was where alex went(for who knows what) and killed Bruce.

We just learned about the hospital.

Brians house was where TiMasky/Alex (possibly)stayed, and where teleportation/time travel shit went down(in 23)

Rosswood park contains the Tunnel of death, the Building where alex attempted to shoot Jay and Jess, and is a forest.(The building was just a place in the middle of the forest that Alex could kill J&J)

The abandoned house(in 34 & 35) was the return address from the package Jay got in 26. Also where Jay meets with alex for the first time since 2006.

And basement of doom was where seth was slenderized, or whatever happened, and was the final place Jay teleported in 23

Anywhere else?
Some have more of a purpose than just being creepy, but some are just for spook factor Razz

I think it's more likely that they're all just too busy playing Slender and freaking out over the Wil Wheaton thing. Razz

The red tower had a symbol on it, so presumably someone called the operator there for some reason, but honestly, I think that totheark placed the tape there because it was a unique place that they knew Jay would go to.

And thinking about it, maybe they put the tape there because it had a symbol on it, so anyone who had been in contact with the operator would be too afraid to approach the tower. Once you're halfway up the ladder you're trapped if someone is standing at the base of the tower. It seems like there's a pattern developing about where totheark leaves things lying around.

I think they're just choosing areas where it's specifically horrifying to be hunted by slenderman. Houses, buildings in forests, tunnels, any place with only one exit pretty much.

Well, that's kind of what I was asking, if The Operator can appear basically anywhere, why does he mostly appear in certain places--the forest at Rosswood, the abandoned hospital, & the red tower come to mind. And then you have a building that teleports you to places whenever you open doors, that's not exactly a standard feature. I just wonder if the significance of these things are ever going to be given an in-context explanation.

I don't think they really need to rely on the Operator so much in season 3. I feel that they have moved beyond that. The story is now focusing on finding out what happened to the cast of MH. The Operator will no doubt make more appearances, but it shouldn't be the main focus. That would kill the story they've built so far. Unfortunately, everyone still seems to be up in arms about there not being as much action. We've had quite a bit more exposition. To be honest, we've needed the exposition in order to move the plot forward and explain to the viewers what the hell is going on. Remember, this is technically a movie in serial format. You have to keep the viewer up to speed or they are going to get totally lost.

That's the thing, though. Marble Hornets isn't as popular as it is because of the plot. It doesn't have tens of millions of video views because of the mystery of that shitty college movie. Marble Hornets is, and will always be, The Slender Man series. The plot is great, but it's essentially in service of The Slender Man and his moments. to try and do anything else with the series while ignoring it's reason for existence is to try and make Marble Hornets something it's not and never should be.
