Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Sometimes the face in the mirror does not even look like me one minute I am acing my midterms the next I am in fistfights I have made every mistake a teenager could make believe me I wish I could take back my worst decisions but I cannot live in the past instead I must become the best version of myself I will succeed.

I had to turn the pictures upside down and start there, The A i thought was actually an I.

There should be messages from Pages 15 & 20 of Peter's notebook as well.

Unit 2 <-> Section A

Unit 6 <-> Section B
Atoms: Nuclear Interactions <-> Nuclear Radiation
Unit 3 <-> Section A
Petroleum: Breaking and Making Bonds <-> Petroleum: What Is It?

The blue-outlined box below indicates a number of sidebar references to the CD which I suppose originally came with the book. Maybe something about circles of particular diameter? Maybe we'll actually USE the compasses we were given? XD

Yes, I definitely think you'll have to use the compass you were given:
-For each of the pages in the blue box, find the disc/CD icon.
-Then measure the corresponding distance from the center of the disc icon, and draw an arc of that size.

That should give you a letter or group of letters.

Not sure if the "Unit 2 <--> Section A" stuff up top means anything.

Page 20

Page 20 of Peter's notebook is an overlay. The corresponding box(es) for each page should give us letters. I'm not sure what to make of the dashed line boxes in the upper right hand corner.

It may be important to print the page directly from the tumblr to get the correct letters.

notebook p.20 overlay gives: 237/ve, 261/P, 261/o, 337/of, 363/i, 433/I, 521/n, 619/T #markofthespiderman (I think)

Not sure those letters are accurate though, since obtained by transcribing pg 20 to blank page of notebook instead of printing. Its still missing the letter(s) for the box for page7.

I think there''s more to the spider cipher. There's no punctuation except for that singe "." b/n make & believe. "MAKE.BELIEVE" must mean something.

Chemistry in the Community: ChemCom on Google Books:

http://books.google.com/books?id=wYtpGEbAB1cC&pg=RA1-PA28&dq=978-0-7167-8919-2&hl=en&sa=X&ei=9XqXT5rLCMbYgQfJyqz7Bg&ved=0CEQQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=978-0-7167-8919-2&f=false

Doesn't really help much because it only gives access to oneof the pages we need.

To be fair I did transcribe it into my own Peter Parker notebook -- so the spacing should be the same. The only ones I was unsure about were "ve" (art of "vehicle," might have been "hi" instead) and "n," which was in "Using," and might have been indicating the "g" instead.

Gonna give the compass-work a try now that I'm back home.

ETA: Got it!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
From the center of each CD icon, a compass arc of the specified radius passed through one letter of a heading title per item -- spelling out PARKERS.

ETAII: The overlay text anagrams to "viewpoint of"...I haven't been able to convert these two tidbits to new URLs or anything though...

Great job guys! Anagram from page 20 overlay combined with word from page 15 lead to new website parkerspov.com (discovered by @silaslesnick)

Next puzzle

"Random as they seem, these images add up to more than their individual parts."

Seems like they want us to overlay the frames. Difficult with just the pic though since each of the frames is so small.

EDIT: Rethinking…this may not be a photo overlay. Maybe the X's and +'s are guides to rearrange the frames like puzzle pieces?

"Picture Perfect" -- Too perfectly posed?

I might be looking waaaaaay to closely at this, but the Debate Team pic seems too well posed.

All of the girls in the front row have their hands in the same position with legs crossed, while the guys in the front row have hands/feet apart.

Girls in the back row have arms behind them while guys have arms in front.

Binary?

I think the contact sheet is the thing to focus on, given the "add up to more" line.

Had a quick go on it in Photoshop, overlaying images on top of each other, but couldn't figure out what the method for doing so might be. Only patterns I noticed were that red 'X's only appear in corners, while blue 'X's only appear at the center of a side. Also there are two images without any X.

My first thought was the images would combine somehow at a certain opacity to reveal some new image, but I don't see that happening, so I'm inclined to think the numbers for each are more important.

EDIT: I don't think the Debate team photo is anything unusual, it is very well posed, but then I remember school photos taking ages to do entirely because the photographer spent so much time getting everyone into position. Hands in front/back whilst stood is probably just a male/female etiquette thing.

Also, Emma Stone!

For the Spring into action photo (the most recent)

The two boxes are different:

Box 1 (foreground)
- On the top of the box it says "Patented 8-15-33 No. 1922921"
- The word "Main Springs" has a space between it
- The numbers 3260 and 1.20 X .10 X 10 are written on the bottom left corner.
- It is made by "Watch-Motor Main Spring Co. Inc. New York"

EDIT: This is also the description to go with it:

"SPRING INTO ACTION

The construction of a simple spring is revelatory; every incline, coil and slope works in conjunction to create a symphony of potential energy just waiting to erupt."

The boxes seemed to both be used by Sandsteel at different times. A google image search shows many variations of that style. Not convinced that one is relevant... yet. Smile

Looks like the X and + only have 8 places they occur, so maybe 8-bit encoding -> letters?

ETA: oops, looks like fewer positions than that, only 6. Center, center-right, top-right never used.

Also, patterns in top 2 rows are no more than one mark off from each other and the patterns in rows 3 and 4 are almost the same too. Then each pair in the bottom row follows the same being only 0 or 1 mark off. Not sure it's relevant but pointing out any patterns might help others see something.

Patterns that appear more than once also seem to be touching each other.
