are we assuming that the screens relate to new drops?
I was wondering that, which if true is rather disappointing. I would like to see some of this Spidey swag as well =D, or at least an online element that lets more of us into the game.
I haven't been keeping up to date with the twitter feeds so I don't know if there are groups getting organized for the new countdowns. Mainly been relying on the excellent info and pics from the good folks here.

Wow, a Spidey viral, sweeeeet.
What's the deal with /prepare? I've read the whole thread and still have no idea. Also, the timers counting down on the mainpage for tomorrow, are those new? A Valentines day swag pack from Peter Parker would rock. I might be able to take a shot at ATL if there is a second drop.
Either way, I'll be following this.

The /prepare was a code to be used on the main page to access the countdowns, which they've now put up permanently.
BTW I run that mark-of-the-spider-man tumblr, which I've set up to keep track of the viral. Check the latest post re: countdowns.

Also, I wrote there that what the statics probably mean is that when the countdown ends in each of the locations, the statics will be replaced with images showing where to go in said city eg. ATL to find new drop etc.

Thanks man, I saw your Tumblr earlier, incredibly useful site you've got there and I will be following it as well.
So is the Denver drop still live? There was really no one around that could pick that back pack up?

Yes, otherwise they would've tweeted FOUND and the activity on #markofthespiderman on Twitter doesn't suggest Denver has been found.

I wonder if it's still there. Sometimes in the past with other virals if a drop wasn't picked up in a certain time frame the PM's would retrieve it. Hard to believe there isn't anyone in Denver that knows about the package.

names of the gifs? I have had a look at the code and the gifs that represent the city screens have really strange 'random' looking names.
ATLANTA - N4fCKDPsQbeK7X.jpg
PHOENIX - OB95wMb1bKu8rq.jpg
DENVER - UIs4TgRuctEtXQ.jpg
NEW YORK - gZlDskxnijOn7R.jpg
LOS ANGELES - l14DjdY87UQTI8.jpg
Mark of the Spiderman - motsm-329ad935f3682dd3ffefbd382575747d.png
SEATTLE - yLsg9iS0ikPq40.jpg
Could there be anything there?

So, sadly I was right. I called the comic shop and they said the drop was only available on Saturday and that when the Denver bag wasn't picked up a rep returned and retrieved it.
Too bad, I was about to put up several Craigslist ads offering to pay someone to pick it up for me.

They typically use random file names so we can't guess where the next locations will be. They're learning from their mistakes in the past.

Damn. One of the Seattle hunters' co-workers was gonna head down there tonight :L Most of us assumed that the countdowns meant we had until Tuesday to collect the packages...they should've had a proper timer on each of those like with Mouth Taped Shut (which was so successful that Sony/Columbia/42E wanted to adapt it for a wider audience, and voila, here's MOTSM!). Ironically the same happened with the first flower on MTS back in...October, I think? It was San Diego. We missed it. Denver is the new San Diego
P.S. most of us who were on the MTS hunt on Twitter are doing this one as well! Any other ex-MTS-ers on here?

Yeah, it happens. During Flynn Lives I believe there was a package that went unretrieved as well. Seems to happen at least once per big viral. Hopefully today goes better for all involved. I am unable to make a go at ATL like I hoped, good luck to everyone who will be on the ground, if anyone needs web support I'll be around...
