[TRAILHEAD?] Gishwhes Hey guys. So last night, actor Misha Collins posted the following message on his twitter:
Quote:
You are a part of a movement, an uprising. You are now the very definition of civil unrest. Get ready to rumble. www.gishwhes.com
Now if you go to the website, there's a video of an eye (I believe it's his) with some creepy, overlapping whispers.

There's also a countdown which is currently at 56 days. There's a spot to sign up, and if you do you get this email:

Get over it.
GISHWHES inductee,
You are very lucky to be offered this citizenship.
If you step out of line it will be revoked.
I will have someone that handles menial communication matters contact you when I feel like it.
And when they do, buckle up for quite a ride...

I've heard there are other emails going out too, though most are identical to this one (according to Tumblr)
So...yeah. I've been running some anagrams on 'Gishwhes', but haven't found anything yet. I might call the phone number tonight, see what happens. I'm definitely interested to see where this goes.

DON'T call the number. It's a reference to the song "867-5309/Jenny" by Tommy Tutone. Years (decades) ago the phone companies around the world had major problems because of people flooding their lines with calls to that number when the song came out.
EDIT: Other than that, and besides the fact that I haven't checked out the video yet and only know Misha Collins as Castiel on Supernatural, this looks kind of interesting.

My guess is that it is an acrostic/acronym (initial letters of a phrase) rather than an anagram. (Perhaps it starts with "God Is...")
I rewatched the Season 6 finale of Supernatural which aired on TV last night, so the timing could be more than coincidental. I knew Misha was on Twitter back when "The French Mistake" episode aired, but I hadn't thought to keep following him. This could be fun!

A twitter acount that is listed on the Gishwhes landing page has posted a riddle.
Okay, Gishwhesheans, what’s 66 (at prime), black, extremely lucky and a prodigy of St. James?

Ooh, I'd never seen his letter before. Judging by this part here
Quote:
Because you were all so excellent, I’ve decided to launch what i call, The First Annual: SCAVENGER HUNT TO END ALL SCAVENGER HUNTS (SHEASH) with the alternate title: The Greatest Scavenger Hunt The World Has Ever Seen (TGSHWES),this summer, 2011. It is going to blow your fucking minds. It will destroy the internet. It will bring nations to their knees. I’ll announce it Twitter in a few months, but in the mean time, you have a head start. (by which i mean, you know in your HEAD that the contest will START.)
SHawthorne was right on the money with the acronym.
As for the riddle... urg. Still trying to figure it out. 66 though, 'at prime'...may be worth noting that the prime factors of 66 are 2, 3 and 11. Already looked in the passages in the book of James for 2: 3-11 and 3:2-11, but so far there's was nothing to do with something black and lucky

Does the word "prodigy" in the riddle seem weird to anyone else?
I mean prodigy usually refers to a crazy-talented person; but other definitions are "a wonderful example of something" or "an amazing or marvelous thing" which could be applicable, but the phrase "prodigy of St. James" just doesn't sound right to me.

Think they were going for 'prodigal' (as in 'prodigal son'), or 'progeny'? Or could the strangeness of the phrasing be a kloo?

the puzzle was figured out Oh yeah...
Dear Gishwhes Inductee,
Per Jean-Louis's resolute request, I'm forwarding the following communication:
"Greetings!
52 days and counting.
Lots of questions. Patience breeds clarity...though it's not a pretty birth.
Riddles are the best! Don't you think? And prizes. Prizes elevate all to the sublime.
The posted question was: What's 66 (at prime), black, extremely lucky and a prodigy of St. James?
If you didn't see the question you're not looking.
An answer has been found! Stay tuned to @mishacollins, @whatisgishwhes, and @missjeanlouis or await my glorious email correspondence for answers and riddles...in moderation. Vices in excess, **f**l**** in moderation, and pony rides for free - as "they" often say.
Unabashedly not yours but perhaps warming to the thought,
JLA"

Just got the email myself, though for me the circuit diagram wouldn't show, so thanks for posting it. I remember nothing about Circuit graphs though.
The "**f**l****" when clicked on leads to this insanely priced Ebay auction-
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-National-Cash-Register-Decorative-Art-842-/220655717627#ht_500wt_1413
It is an antique rare cash registered numbered 842. Another clue xP Though I have nooo idea.
For the riddle, I spent a few hours yesterday on google trying to tie the clues together...found nothing much. 2/3/11 was Chinese new year, the year of the rabbit, and rabbits are lucky. That is literally all I could find tying the clues together. But yeah, pretty sure that's way off. I'm sure the phrasing of 'prodigy' and 'prime' MUST be signifigant in some way.
The plot thickens...

Gishwhes Riddels So all I can think of for "What's 66 (at PRIME), black, extremely luck and a prodigy of St. James?" Is that is has something to do with the 66 the prime numbers being 2,3,11 and that they are a date. So Feb 3rd 2011, which was the Chinese New Year and it's the year of the Rabbit and a rabbit foor is extremely lucky and considered black magic??? That's all I have so far not sure what prodigy of St. James is. I looked up the meaning of prodigy to try and help and I found that it can mean omen. But not sure how that helps. St. James was an apostle to Jesus. but yeah no idea yet.

Well the diagram is a bit odd
The R is a resistor (a non-variable one)
I have never seen the other symbol before, so I am unsure what it could be, I was always taught that V something was for Voltmeters but a voltmeter should be put parallel to a circuit.
Also it seems to have no cell, unless the things labelled V are a different way of showing a power cell (but neither me or a physicist I asked have seen it done that way before) so maybe we have a non-working cell?

I'm actually taking a class on circuit analysis, so I was *very* happy to see this one
Actually, it is a symbol for a power source of some kind. My instructor uses it in his diagrams, which is how I initially recognized it. The "+/-" gives it away!
Other than that, I really don't know what to do with it. It's a circuit with one resistor and two power sources. But anyway, I'm off to go work on the homework for the very class that helped me here...good luck!
