Probably a little late to bring this up. I asked him if he had chat available and he said it was down. Gmail could be restricted to HTML only, so that would cut out anything but the e-mail server.

FWIW, he also mentioned that Blogger was down for a while. I'm not sure if this is a Blogger thing or if it's part of his captors' plans, if any.

Anyone who could try to see if they can transcribe some of the background messages? Aside from the main voice, the background voice could also be clues to figure out who his captors are... That way we can maybe confirm if this is indeed failtech or not... So far, aside from the few connections, nothing has been an explicit connection between the two... So right now, maybe let's disassociate them from each other and see if we can figure out more clues on what happened based on this mp3 transmission.

I know (most likely, anyway) this is way off-base, but when I read (comments here, I haven't looked at the actual blog and such yet) about the memory wipe and time stuff, my first thoughts were Retcon (amnesia drug from Torchwood) and the Doctor (time travel references coupled with what I thought when I read about the memory wiping). Again, I wouldn't bet on these having anything to do with it, but it's just kind of interesting.

don't know failtech - so can't comment - intrigued though - played a little on audacity - will try again tomorrow if i don't get any work... gives me something to get up for at least. sigh - unemployedness sucks...
