In the first message, they talk about the "crazy eights", which is the name of a trophy you win in MLB10 (I think it has something to do with pitching)
The second message on the site talks about the PSN status and the "dark chapter closed". It's pretty obvious that they are talking about the recent hack on the PSN.
New update on the site, guys.
I'm still not sure what those Win98 serial numbers mean but here's a thought

it looks like you can complete the "titles" by using the asterisks in the sentences below and redeem it as PSN coupon codes or something. I can't test, I don't have a PS3 or an XBOX360

Damn! The "Win98" numbers were actually a redeem code on xbox live. Gamejunky on destructoid claims to have redeemed it, and gotten 1400 microsoft points.
I checked, and got the message "This code has already been used." Trying other variations just gives you "Please enter a valid code".
The other one is a PSN code, apparently.
Ah well...
PS. Other comments in that thread crack me up, like
"As a Canadian, I have only one thing to say:
There are Canadian Video Game Awards?"

Here is the complete update:
BJT_R - _____ - C9BX6 - H_Q_Y - F_6KT
ENGAGING AI SUB-ROUTINE // LOAD PROFILE SOUND_SHAPES.MA*
Library corrupted: Term CYPHR. Reconstruct to continue.
COPYRIGHT ERROR SIERRA.BAT HQ = INPUT REVERSED ***
Also now when you click the icon in the upper right (link that was broken) it now fires up windows media player and plays a 5 second warbled sound. The filename is LNIT.wav. I'm at work right now but maybe someone can decode this.

It's just reverse audio saying "the G list is coming - are you on the list?"
I'm checking the background noise right now, but it just seems like a mixed in radio noise sound, nothing hidden.

thebruce : same here, reversed the sound, hear the sentence, but I don't see anything useful in the spectrogram and such...
Hum... I think what follows is a good lead. Tell me what you think guys.
COPYRIGHT ERROR SIERRA.BAT HQ = INPUT REVERSED ***
Sierra.bat immediately made me think about the old Sierra Games. For all these games, I could only find one with "HQ" as initials, Hero's Quest.
From Wikipedia :
Quote:
Although the series was originally titled Hero's Quest, Sierra failed to trademark the name . Milton Bradley successfully trademarked an electronic version of their unrelated joint Games Workshop board game, HeroQuest, which forced Sierra to change the series' title to Quest for Glory . This decision caused all future games in the series (as well as newer releases of Hero's Quest I) to switch over to the new name.
Underlined sentence relates to "COPYRIGHT ERROR".
I'd say the *** = the initials for the new name, aka Quest For Glory > QFG, but "INPUT REVERSED" so GFQ...
BJTKR - _____ - C9BX6 - HGQFY - FQ6KT
As I said earlier, I guess the missing part is either the word CYPHR or an anagram of it (kudos if they managed to get the word CYPHR on a promo code)
If anyone got a playstation or XBOX (I don't know for which network it is) and some spare time, maybe you could try ?

Well, judging be the fact that the first was one of Microsoft's, and this one is the same length (the PSN one was completely different), I'd say it's an Xbox code. Unfortunately, I don't have either platform, so I can't say for sure.

I wasn't sure either, I couldn't tell from the comments on destructoid if this format is for PSN or XBOX, but I think the fact that the first messages talks about "controller map reload AB" means its for XBOX (Playstation don't use letters on the controller buttons, just symbols and L/R for the triggers) and the second message "PSN online status" is quite obvious.

nice catch! didn't even think of that with sierra.bat. Man, those were the days. I loved HQ =)
CYPHR does seem to be the hang now. I bet the code's already been claimed...

Hmmmm...the only G-list I know is a list of bad (physically damaged) sectors on a hard drive.
I don't think I want to be on that list!

Anyone care to try one of the 120 permutations for the CYPHR part of the code

I actually started doing that. It didn't take me long to hit on BJTKR-CPYRH-C9BX6-HGQFY-FQ6KT
...which says "This code has already been used."
So there you have it! I have to not be stuck in work meetings when there's important codes to be broken!
