Request: EverymanHYBRID subforum under Slender Man Mythos The amount of discussion on this ARG merits this. I understand why not every Slender Man-themed/Marble Hornets-inspired ARG can have its own subforum.
But that said, the main EverymanHYBRID thread in the Slender Man Mythos forum has over seven thousand posts , is extremely active, and - at this point - is completely unwieldy in terms of finding things in it. It's got to the point where there's been off-topic threads and a dedicated news thread spun off it.
Given that EMH eclipses pretty much every other currently-active Slender Man ARG out there in terms of forum activity, I think it would make sense to give it its own subforum so people aren't expected to follow one 500+ page subject to follow all the discussion about it.

What is the problem with creating threads titles [EVERYMAN] ... or even [EMH] ... for discussing this project?
Creating a sub-sub-thread would not fix the problem you are describing.

Can I second awakeasaurusrex's original post?
Now the threads are as followed:
Main: About 920 pages
Off-topic main thread: Over 120 pages
News: 5 pages
Tournament: About 40 pages
T-shirt thread: 6 pages
Pages all together: ~ 1091
Rough estimate of posts: ~ 16365
When something news worthy pops up, there are ton of pages to dig through to find out about it. I know that there is a news thread, but it's still very frustrating digging through the actual news conversations on the main thread and the junk on the main thread (and the off-topic thread doesn't work that well...)
I think that if there were a sub forum for Everyman HYBRID, there can be threads for each video, similar to the Marble Hornets sub forum, a thread for Tweets, and a few misc. threads for the fans. I think that this would be best for the group, so that it'd be more organized without annoying the other Slender Man threads by posting the new video threads on the main Slendy Mythos sub forum.
Please take this into consideration and thank for your time,
- Chizuru

I agree, it's hard for me to keep up with all the EMH-related business at this point. It's at least as big as Marble Hornets at this point, if not way bigger. A sub-forum would be very much appreciated.

I also agree. It would make the EMH discussion much more accessible to new arrivals, as right now, the myriad threads and 1000+ page count is fairly intimidating.
Thanks.

Poking my nose in to say that 1) I agree, and 2) it would be a lot easier on the threads that aren't EMH-oriented if there was a subforum for it. As it is now there are a lot of EverymanHYBRID threads cluttering up the place.

I'm going to back up ndemeter, fwiw. By making headers/subjects [EMH PHONECALL 12/14] or [EMH EMAIL 12/17] or [EMH {website name} UPDATE 12/25] it will REALLY help you keep track of stuff and not get lost. Creating a subforum won't make enough of a difference in the reasons you have asked for one.
If you look back through the archives at older games, that form of labeling was adopted by the player base and made things VERY easy to follow. Dates helped people know what order to read, details in the subject title let you keep things organized. for example: Get an email today? Someone else also get an email today? they should post in that same thread. Someone get an email two days later? New thread. Also, by agreeing as a community on a specific title - either use “EMH” or “Everyman”, but not both - and it will be easily searchable within a subforum to pull which threads you want.
~~~ the preceeding was my opinion, and does not necessarily represent the opinions of Unfiction as a whole
I am usually against this movement, but recently I noticed that because of how big EMH is getting, the littler side stories aren't getting any attention. They get butted off the top the moment something, not just something big, but anything, happens. Which makes me feel bad for those who put their effort into getting them noticed. If we start making new threads for everything like you guys have suggested, side-storied can kiss their asses goodbye. They will never be found in that pool of EMH threads.
Also Marble Hornets has its own section, yet EMH is definitely much much bigger and has much more immersion. I don't think of MH as an ARG as much as I think of EMH being an ARG. MH is more of a linear story where we don't affect the story much. We are the ones telling the EMH guys what to do, and we have to go out and find stuff pertaining to the story, like a true ARG.
Honestly I am fine either way, I just feel bad when the side stories don't get their due because some of them are actually good. That and I find it kind of unjust how a smaller story has its own space vs a bigger one.
If EverymanHYBRID has a sub forum, I think TribeTwelve should have one too. Noah has been reaching out to his fans, hell, he stayed over at one of their houses for Thanksgiving. That's pretty damn ARGy, and I think he said that he's going to be doing more meetups in the future. It would only be fair.
This is exactly my fear. If you really think it's best to drown the SMM forum in [EMH] threads every time something new happens, we can, but it is really unfair to the smaller games. EMH is a very active game with a very active following; we're basically asking to be secluded so we don't drown everyone else.
Just popping in to post my support... EverymanHYBRID deserves it's own sub-forum, just like Marble Hornets
(I wonder if you guys are regretting letting *any* Slendy-stuff into UnFiction xP)
Exactly, Rhiannon. This isn't just an organization issue, it's a usability issue. The smaller games should have a chance to develop a following but its hard for them to do that if everyone's eyes are glazing over from the endless rounds of EMHEMHEMHEMH. :/
Yeah, please don't do this. If you seclude side stories to their own forums, the fun of finding and following new ones will be lost to esotericism.
Yeah, look; I was originally against splitting the main EMH topic at all, but we're getting to the stage that you would be hard-pressed to find the EMH board not at the top of the topic list. Conversation has been going at an astronomical rate, and even now, with 4 separate topics on the series, each of them (including the one that is for news updates ONLY, without any discussion) have grown bigger than most boards devoted to entire Slenderstories. The Unfiction board is no longer conducive to finding them in the slightest, despite organizational methods that people have volunteered to creating.
A couple of facts:
- If all four EMH related topics were split away from the Slender Man Mythos board, there would be a bit over 13000 posts remaining in the board. The main EMH topic has over 16000 in it.
- The Tribe Twelve topic, the biggest non-EMH topic, at the time of this posting, has 1446 posts since June 9th. The EMH Tournament thread has had 1317 since NOVEMBER 25th .
- The Marble Hornets subforum has had posts dating back to at the very least, this time, August '09. The EMH main topic has been going since May 16, '10. The entire subforum of Marble Hornets has aproximately 7000 posts more than the EMH main topic, and it has been going for almost a year longer (Hiatus not taken into account, of course.)
I can appreciate your judgement on this issue, but I'd like to let the numbers speak for themselves.
