The Hollow Men were right. The whispers have begun.
Cypher is rot6, from TS Eliot's The Hollow Men.
"WE ARE THE HOLLOW MEN/ WE ARE THE STUFFED MEN/ LEANING TOGETHER/ HEADPIECE FILLED WITH STRAW. ALAS!"

I haven't been here in a pretty long time, but I got this too.
EDIT: Looked up the name, it's Latin for "Lord, direct (or guide) us." It's the motto of the City of London

Also haven't been around in a while, but somehow received this. There was another post on the "Could that be a trailhead?" thread mentioning they also got it despite not being around.
No reason to assume so yet, but if this game is targeting the old lurkers, I'm curious to see what it has in store.

I knew "Six on the Dot" sounded familiar. I remember you too, Illidan. Just curious, both of you followed Marble Hornets too, right?

Got the email as well. First thought was "This is probably another stealth Plato's Cave thing..." But I don't know.

Dragging me out of the woodwork with a random email... Funny how times change but a lot of the same faces find their way here... The question becomes... where do we go from here? hmm...

Not Hornets, no. With the exception of lurking Tron some, the most recent stuff I've played were back when Landlord and XIII were around. XD

I... did not get an email. But I shall follow this anyway as it seems interesting. Keep us non-email folk informed of your findings!

Whee in early! Research on clue Cool, something I can join early and do some research for!
T.S. Elliot poem "Hollow Men"
text from:
http://www.americanpoems.com/poets/tseliot/1076
Quote:
I
We are the hollow men
We are the stuffed men
Leaning together
Headpiece filled with straw. Alas!
Our dried voices, when
We whisper together
Are quiet and meaningless
As wind in dry grass
Or rats' feet over broken glass
In our dry cellar
Shape without form, shade without colour,
Paralysed force, gesture without motion;
Those who have crossed
With direct eyes, to death's other Kingdom
Remember us -- if at all -- not as lost
Violent souls, but only
As the hollow men
The stuffed men.
II
Eyes I dare not meet in dreams
In death's dream kingdom
These do not appear:
There, the eyes are
Sunlight on a broken column
There, is a tree swinging
And voices are
In the wind's singing
More distant and more solemn
Than a fading star.
Let me be no nearer
In death's dream kingdom
Let me also wear
Such deliberate disguises
Rat's coat, crowskin, crossed staves
In a field
Behaving as the wind behaves
No nearer --
Not that final meeting
In the twilight kingdom
III
This is the dead land
This is cactus land
Here the stone images
Are raised, here they receive
The supplication of a dead man's hand
Under the twinkle of a fading star.
Is it like this
In death's other kingdom
Waking alone
At the hour when we are
Trembling with tenderness
Lips that would kiss
Form prayers to broken stone.
IV
The eyes are not here
There are no eyes here
In this valley of dying stars
In this hollow valley
This broken jaw of our lost kingdoms
In this last of meeting places
We grope together
And avoid speech
Gathered on this beach of the tumid river
Sightless, unless
The eyes reappear
As the perpetual star
Multifoliate rose
Of death's twilight kingdom
The hope only
Of empty men.
V
Here we go round the prickly pear
Prickly pear prickly pear
Here we go round the prickly pear
At five o'clock in the morning.
Between the idea
And the reality
Between the motion
And the act
Falls the Shadow
For Thine is the Kingdom
Between the conception
And the creation
Between the emotion
And the response
Falls the Shadow
Life is very long
Between the desire
And the spasm
Between the potency
And the existence
Between the essence
And the descent
Falls the Shadow
For Thine is the Kingdom
For Thine is
Life is
For Thine is the
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.
The last two lines have been quotes a lot in many various places.

Sent the poem in reply to our friend DDN with the reply
" Word has been received. Ready for more instructions. "
Hope I get a reply soon!

Got the email too Curious. So it's only old players that haven't posted for a while who got this?
The last ARG I seriously played was Find The Lost Ring two years ago. Haven't done anything except follow Flynn Lives and helping PM IFILR. I've been going absolutely crazy the last year or so taking tests, applying to colleges and travelling.
I feel sort of vaguely honored that someone remembered me enough to contact me about this
I replied:
