Uncertain. Shady. I smell gamejack.
If you're referring to me; I didn't post the video, I merely joined to reply to the person who found it...
No, I'm sure thebruce was talking about the Youtube user having joined YT on the 30th and posting video the same day. I thought gamejack too. If the account had existed since before this all started, then sure it would seem possible to be IG, but I wouldn't put much faith in anything on that account just yet.

I wrote a comment on it to see if I get some sort of reaction. We'll see.

Although interesting, I have to agree with Toasty. I smell gamejack. Just seems a bit... fishy. Pardon the pun.

Seems gamejack-ey to me as well. It's a little too obvious to say "I love you mom" when the Mink-sauce was as subtle as he was on the coelacanth blog, where he didn't mention any of the activities regarding his mom's funeral with any detail whatsoever.
If the account was named "joshminker" then that would be another thing entirely. But even still it's a little too obvious.

Your right, the phone recording did sound normal. If it's a coded message why would he post it on a public website with his true identity? I would have used an alias. Then again this is an ARG about a movie so anything is possible.
I agree, I think the anagram conceal hat is too much of a coincidence, what is the hat concealing in the pictures that we have of it?

I think it's extremely likely that the hat is in the picture when he's showing that he "has the damn thing" because the film that he has was coiled up inside the band of the hat that he inherited from his mom.
Edit to avoid double post:
After re-reading parts of HLM.com, I have a few things I noticed. In the most recent post, Josh tells us to have a "sniff" around. Seems a little weird.
The commentary on the "wolffish" on the photo slider notes that they can have up to SIX fang like teeth in the front of their mouths. Another six.
As much as I'm more and more leaning towards coelacanth being a codeword, I still think that Mink-daddy is an actual fish enthusiast. There is something conveying authenticity (as far as an ARG character can go) in the fish knowledge. Details like the Classics Illustrated Moby Dick (whale not fish) and the "two decades of experience."
Additionally, I think we can chalk up the Comic Sans and other poor site quality attributes to his being "new to blogging." As a result, I'm thinking that there might not be any sort of interesting coded message here. Though the no-cache in the flash file is pretty interesting.

If I remember correctly, back in the Cloverfield days JJ had a website entirely devoted to videos. Jamieandteddy.com or something. I'm fairly certain he wouldn't use youtube for an ARG. Seems amateur to me. Though that youtube page smells like Rasgold if you ask me.......

There's also the fact that (as a character) Josh wouldnt add the title "i love you mom" to a video that apears to be completely unrelated.
EDIT:
plus even if the video is made to look like it was done by someone with little experience, i find it hard to believe that they would use the annotations on youtube rather than put a=b right in the video.

Agreed. And wasn't he supposed to stop posting publicly?

Presuming nothing we've found is OG so far, there certainly are references to trianges, from the SIN symbol on the main site, to the a=b on the video (that may or may not be OG... who knows) but one thing deep sea and fish related, not to mention paranormal that has to do with triangles I can think of is the Bermuda Triangle...

Ok, so I'm still a bit on the fence to this hook, line and minker thread as to whether it's OOG or not but I did a search on "hooklineandminker" and came across this:
http://meemi.com/hooklineandminker/wf
Now either someone is really having fun with this minker persona or minker is actually IG. That looks totally like the rocket poppeteers moon to me.
