I know...it was the only train accident on record around that time period that involved a collision with an automobile.

Um, folks...
This is fiction, alternate reality. We are not going to find an actual filed report for an accident with a truck and a train that let an alien loose in Ohio. Even if there were such a real incident, if the UFO-conspiracy-nutcases haven't found it yet, I don't think we're going to suddenly unearth it as a result of research a JJ Abrams film.

[spec]It would probably be covered up by the government anyway. I have a feeling that massive government cover-ups will be a part of this whole experience, though.[/spec]

Besides, you think the US Army is going to report that one of their ultra-secret alien transport trains had an accident?

Bah... You'll find about as many US Railway train wreck reports on this as you will find NTSB crash reports at Roswell. Wink

ETA:

IMDB site is up...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1650062/

...and it doesn't say anything we don't already know.

You know, J.J. Abrams is a busy guy: he's writing/producing this, MI4 *and* the "Cloverfield sequel" for 2011. But it's interesting to note that "Super 8" is the only one he's DIRECTING.

If it was a cover up involving aliens, it probably wouldn't.

Hi everyone, new & old Smile

I moved this thread to its own, separate forum in the Chaotic Fiction section, as, going by previous projects of the Master of Mystery JJ Abrams, Super 8 will probably spawn a LOT of speculation.

You have your own forum to use now, so feel free to create new threads on relevant subjects. Do take a moment to read the forum guidelines at the top of the forum though, and remember to Search before posting, to make sure you're not posting anything that's already there.

Thank you, Giskard!
You saved us Smile
