Is the wikia wiki the repository of choice?

Will do DanteIL!
Just going to document the numbers across the boxes on the 5th floor.
1,6,6,5,3,5,9,4,8,3,2,8,9,4,4,4
The first 6 could also be a 9 if the box was faced up according to the arrows...
I'm pretty sure that first six is suppose to be a nine. If you look closely you'll see a line showing which way the number is suppose to be read, like this 9 or this 6 .
And glad to see so many old names posting that I haven't seen in awhile. /me waves to danteIL and all.

Regarding the boxes:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
They're a magic square that totals 21.

Yeah, and 'Gus' wrote on his blog that it's because a snake scared him.

Your illustration of the tenth floor appears incomplete. Specifically, the area around the elevator shaft is not drawn. Is my copy of the book incomplete or was your sketch of this floor perhaps rushed by a jungle predator?
Here is a joke. Q: What's the difference between a garden snake and a black mamba? A: I don't know and so when I saw something wiggle I panicked and dropped my ink-bottle and scurried to the elevator. Sorry for the smudge.

Maybe a clue? Or a misprint? Or just a bit of fun? Hard to know.

Would anyone be interested in doing a scheduled IRC 'read-through' together, to kinda go page by page and discuss clues?

Assuming you haven't already done this, I'm game (in a few hours). I'm going to try to pick the book up somewhere on my way home from work today.

Not yet! The wikia wiki has the best breakdown so far that I've seen but there are still things to hash out. Things that will benefit from the bouncing-off aspect of many minds working as one! (Like, "Is that 5 the highway or the mile given the art on the wall?" You know, the fun stuff.)

some clues have been real need. some ppl are making crazy hard puzzles out of nothing me thinks.
Had my roomate help me out when i thought the 4th floor was nearby. So its not,but she pointed out if it's S H M, then Highway means highway, as in interstate, not state road.

Faeryqueen just brought me a copy when she came to visit me in the hospital yesterday! I'm reading through it now and eager to join in! Happy to have something like this to occupy my time

I thought about interstate also, and just in case this website may come in handy for the hunt: http://www.us-highways.com/us1830.htm

I'm not sure where everyone is talking about this, but I was at the SF event. For those who were there, I'm Lou, the guy who was the middle digger.
The clue was
F BRSJ OIIUAYT S ZT
My writing was sloppy though so perhaps someone should corroborate that.
Additionally, a woman was videotaping the whole event for a website that features neighborhood events. She said she'd put the whole thing up, and the site is Missionlocal.org.
Incidentally, I was wearing a yellow tie, which is actually a honeycomb tie with bees. A little shout out to my Beekeeper brothers and sisters.
