Whenever i go out hunting alone, it seems like nothing passes gaze anymore. I hunt mesquite tree areas of Texas, in kind of a farming deal area. You're one mile away from camp, half a mile away from the 4-Wheeler, have four backpacks on your back plus a chair and a firearm, and you see this big black tall thing off in the distance.

Yeah. It turns out it was a black deer. It was shot the next day at the same spot.

But it freaked me the hell out.

I was putting the bins out the other night; it was dark AND foggy, and I had just been doing something slender-related, I don't remember what.

I opened the gate from the back garden to the front, lugging alongside me a large black binbag, and there, silhouetted by the orange light of the streetlamps, was a pair of very thin, very long legs.

Needless to say I dropped the bag.

And then picked it up again rather sheepishly, when I realised it was the tree that had always been there.



Another time, I woke up and looked out my window to see what kind of day it was: foggy (again).

Then I saw what looked like a head and a pair of shoulders in the fog, poking out above the roof of the house opposite mine, and branchtentacles behind/beside it.

After a moments utter fear, I figured out it was just their chimney, and a tree behind it.

...but what kind of house has two chimneys?
