Thank you! What can we say about these writings?

Btw, a friend of mine can help us with Berlin to look up for some events. Do we know, when and where? (And what?)

When we say 'unsolved'... do we mean 'untranslated' or 'translated but translation reveals another as yet unsolved puzzle'?

I don't want to waste time trying to translate something that has already been translated. XD

A 232fr google search produces a flight from London (Stansted) to Alghero, Italy (in Sardinia) on the 25th April, flight FR 232:

New Email

I received a new email from Geoff Greatbatch:
There seems to be quite a bit of interest in my post and you were the first to email! I'm attaching another photo taken from my Pegasus 447, this one a higher resolution, which
should give you some more detail. No need to swap a ferret with me for this but I am actually looking for a banded black-eyed white should you be able to source one! Are you
interested in ferrets? Or indeed microlights?

Kind regards

Geoff

Here is the picture:

I asked Geoff Greatbatch, whether he had another picture of his sighting.
Here is his answer:

Quote:
Hello Vlad,

Yes I've had quite a bit of interest about my posting. Will you be able to come and look at the site yourself? Oxfordshire is very nice and the markings are certainly intriguing.
I'm attaching a better resolution photo.

best,

Geoff

The whole version (3286x2470, 1525 KB)
you can download at http://startrek.wikibruce.com/Image:Geoff1.jpg

Here is perhaps better readable sign-table.

P.S. You beat me, abramsfollower Smile

Anyone in England nearby? Someone should go scope it out if it's at all feasible.

I think we need a higher res picture, because Romulan 1's and 4's are hard to distinguish.

I'm positive it's all numbers, as the 3 character is a giveaway. So far I've got the first two rows (put the notch in the lower left corner) as:

? 8 8 4 6 7 2 3 5 1 0 (11 characters)
3 5 6 8 9 5 1 3 9 6 9 1 7 (13 characters)
3 4 0 0 2 2-1 1 8.9 1 0 4
5 2 5 2 3 1 1 3.1 1 1 1

It's a photoshop image, it's not really there. Note how the shadow on the 4-line message isn't oriented correctly, nor are the shadows in the "crash crater".

documenting here

for the numbers, I'm guessing slightly different on some... primarily, the 1/4/5 as you say, which are hard to distinguish, so I'm relying on the apparent tilts of the upper arm.

I'm also ignoring periods just because the image is still pretty low resolution... but the dash is clear.

I get:
Code:
? 8 8 4 6 7 2 3 5 1 0
3 5 6 8 9 5 1 3 9 6 9 4 7
3 4 0 5 2 2-1 1 8 9 4 0 4
5 2 5 2 3 1 1 3 4 1 1 4

@thebruce
I misused the space policy of wiki uploading the image of 1 mb instead of 150 kb maximum. Sorry Smile

I've got btw new response of Geoff. I asked him:

Quote:
Dear Geoff,

thank you very much for the picture.
I'd love to come to Oxfordshire, I've heard about this nice place.

What can you say about the weird marks in the box? There seems to be a table with rows of signs. I have a feeling, I've seen these signs somewhere before...

And: could you please describe the aircraft you've seen.
Sorry for all the questions,
best regards
and thank you in advance,

and his answer

Quote:
Hello Vlad
Well I'm afraid I don't know much about the markings on that piece of wood, I hadn't even noticed it until someone like yourself pointed it out to me.
The air craft I saw, I have described as dark in colour and the size of a bus but more wedge shaped with sharp feet coming out of it.
Now if you get me on the subject of microlights I can go on for hours! All I will say is that it is the most perfect way to see the world, it makes one as free as a bird - but I don't
think this will be very interesting to you.

best,

Geoff

birds... hmm..

Romulan Warbird? Razz

Don't worry about image size... that's a default wiki warning. If people link to the "/Image:filename.jpg" wiki page rather than the full size image directly, it's not a hit on bandwidth. The wiki automatically resizes all images.

During all that chat, I kept getting the feeling of a kind of Star Trek IV re-visioning Smile But all this romulan content throws that out the window.
It's pretty clear we're dealing with at least 5 romulans on Earth. Good/bad, who knows.
