notebook scan

trying to figure out the writing on the notebook scan: above the grid to the right, it looks like it's written: "thomas sagt" (thomas says) and also an "a" which blurs into the "s" of "thomas". the "a" probably relates to the "bij" above the left grid (same size, too). no thomas person around though, not even in the book, if i remember correctly.

notebook page
"thomas sagt"

I'm not sure if this is relevant but, "thomas sagt" is a song by a German band Ja. Panic. (link to music videos)

Couldn't sleep, so figured I'd stare at this notebook page until I wanted to slam my head against the wall hard enough to knock myself out =)

The handwriting is driving me crazy, but I think I might have decoded at least a little something. Bottom right... text could read "Absdind". Which would be an anagram for "Sindbad".

And that about does it. The idea of anagrams on top of the German, on top of the handwriting... Bang Head

So I asked our German friends in the Alznerexperiment forums for some help with the notebook page.

You can see the thread here: http://www.alznerexperiment.org/eneib/index.php?topic=77.15

So far, they seem to be coming up with the same 'solutions'/problems that we have been. Confused

Hey everyone! I hope my english is good enough for you Embarassed I will try my best!

I`m from the german Alznerforum and we are really trying to help you!
On that notebook page are some german words. But it doesnt make any sense to us. The whole picture doesn`t make sense to us Wink

There are three words below the animal.

1. as 2. says = sagt 3. bye = Tschüß

In the middle of the notebook page is the same word twice:
versteckt=hidden

All the way down it says

winkt zum Abschied = waves one hand to say good bye

One question: Did you check the postcard in every possible way? We got the same postcards some months ago! and below the word "Parkum"on the back we have found coordinates! I was holding the postcard over the hot Toaster and suddenly the coordinates appeared! But be careful in case you will try Smile

If something new is happening let us know! We are watching out for DanteIL Very Happy Greetings from Germany

I've checked and re-checked, the only thing that shows up under the UV Light is the word "Sindbad". I did try holding the postcard on a lightbulb, but the heat did not reaveal anything.

A lot of interesting info!

The Dr.'s to do list (translated)-

Quote:
Finish Abstract for the Conference
HMM-reviewed sources
Call Police Department "threatening letter"
Website Update Jim
Dog care
Meeting with Verbitzky on Wednesday at 20:00 clock in Boca di Beppo

So he was getting threats? And the person he was meeting from the MPU was this Verbitzky (a name I've seen mentioned on the German forums...)

It would seem that Dr. Verbitzky was a part of the alzner experiment, the previous arg for the German audience. So their game is bleeding over into ours =)

Also, under Anna Glass' files, are all the recordings we received. Included are snippets that we did not get via cassette.

Impending move to Chaotic Fiction!

I think we're ready for a move to the Chaotic Fiction forum. This thread will be moved over there in a couple of hours. I wanted to give notice ahead of time so nobody lost us. Smile

since that todo-list in for "KW 11" (calender week 11) he must have met Verbitzky on Wed 11th of March, two days before he was last seen. btw I haven't found a Boca di Beppo, but a Buco di Beppo, downtown San Diego. http://www.bucadibeppo.com/

notebook scan & HMM

the weird matrix in Dr. Krotzlers notebook is apparently a Hidden Markov Model (HMM -> to review HMM sources is also on Krotzlers 2do-list on his website)

"A hidden Markov model (HMM) is a statistical model in which the system being modeled is assumed to be a Markov process with unobserved state" eh... Rolling Eyes
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hidden_markov_model

it's some sort of probability calculation. mathematicians, psychologists, come forward!

What's this look like? It's the circled word from the other side of the page. It looks like Jimmy has blanked out a lot of the other reverse text - perhaps it's not relevant? Or he has ulterior motives. Either way, it ain't there. but this is.

Potsdam?
