OK so I got the actual address from Addlepated yesterday afternoon and swung by to see what I could see. Basically, it's just a house in Mission Bay, nothing special about it - no signs or other information that I could see.

Two thoughts:
1.) I didn't think about it when I was there, but it could be that if the writing on the tape is "21A", then that may be an apartment number or something. Maybe Pink Cloud could go check that out?

sure, I'll check it out! can you PM me the housenumber pls?

just to be clear - the german ARG is past, and it's not related, but the PMs/author may be the same people, yes?

Varin, did it come from the same San Diego address as Addlepated's, or a different one?

Just checked with her. It's the same address Smile

Yes, you are correct. That game successfully concluded in Dec 08.

I found a review of the book--
http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/f/sebastian-fitzek/therapy.htm

A quote from there:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Four years later: Josy's father, well-known psychiatrist Viktor Larenz, has withdrawn himself to an isolated North Sea island in order to deal with the tragedy.

Enaxor pointed out that maybe the sound in the background is the ocean?

Also, there's a chat room set up now-- #charlotte.

Yeah it looks really good. I just wished I could actually read what is going on. Looks like this one will be in English though so that makes me happy. Smile

Well, I'm a POOR ARGer it seems - turns out I went to the WRONG address! Looking at it on Google Maps, the RIGHT address could possibly a Medical Office Building, as Google told me a Speech/Language Pathologist resides at the same address (Apt 3, however - not sure if there would be an Apt 21A).

I've sent the address to PinkCloud but I may also blow over there at lunch myself - I feel the need to REDEEM MYSELF Very Happy

And sorry for the double post, but for some reason it wouldn't let me attach both the audio and the pic...

ETA new, clearer picture. Kept old one since the date on the paper in the picture was discussed below.

Varin, does the cassette writing say "1/2"? That's kinda what it looks like.

Also, LA Times dated YESTERDAY? The post office isn't THAT quick...

It could be a 1/2. Maybe this is cassette 1 out of 2?

EDIT: And yes, it looks like it was mailed on 3/12 at 13:07 via Express Mail

And mine was written with a ballpoint pen, not a marker. I'm going to take a better picture and replace the one above for easier comparison.

That "1" looks a lot like the "V/A" on the earlier tape, though.
