TVGuide tries to find a trailhead in episode 4 (and fails?)
*spoilers* for episode 4 involved

I'm not putting spoiler tags around this, because all of this is already-aired information and technically not spoilers any more. And if you are not up-to-date with aired episodes, well, it's not a huge spoiler.

Current season of LOST, episode 4, has a scene in which we find some wreckage on the shore, and among the flotsam is a metal container with French printed on it: BESIXDOUZE, or "B-6-12"* OK, so I'm reading the "online clues" thread on the TWoP forum when I see someone mention this:

In their review, TVGuide had a link they found for a besixdouse website. That is what was written on some of the French wreckage. When the site comes up there is picture which brings up an email address when you click on it.
So I went and found the original Lost Episode Recap: "The Little Prince" on the TVGuide website

Once they reach the shore, they discover a grouping of wreckage of sorts. "It looks like it just happened," exposits Charlotte. One piece of equipment is labeled Besix Douze, which sends my frantic fingers a-Googlin'. First, I found out that "douze" means 12 in French, but that "Besix" appears to defy translation. Then I found this site, which features an artful photo of what appears to be a rock or a fossil (or a fragment of that damn four-toed statue?) — and nothing else. Clicking on the photo prompts an Outlook email message to me-at-besixdouze.fr. I sent them a little mash note about polar bears and crazy French ladies; we'll see what I get in response.

The picture is an asteroid, the site is hosted on Dreamhost, was created in 2007 and registered to a French company. I *really* don't think this is related to ABC or the show, just a literary allusion. I'm reporting this not to start another game branch -- I would discourage people from harassing the French in general -- but I do find it interesting how anxious people can be to find a trailhead.

*(which relates to asteroid B612 which is where The Little Prince is from in the book by French aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, which relates to the episode title, yada yada, sidebar, this is LOST, ya know?)

Either they found a way to misguide people to thinking this was not a part of LOST Experience, or we found a new ARG.

thanks, anonymous guest, but why not explain your game, and how it has nothing to do with the subject at hand?

from http://www.lost.eu/about.php?keyword=idea (so you do NOT have to click):
Quote:
Unlike most other sites, Lost isn't trying to mirror real-word friendships or connections.

A mixture of online game/street art/social network, Lost is a community of people connected through links written down and left in random places all over the world. From a single link written on a piece of paper and left in a cafe in the UK, over 400,000 people from across the world are now linked together by notes left in railway stations and written on websites.

This is an experiment to show how curiosity and creativity can link thousands of people together in unique and interesting ways. This project is constantly evolving, and so if you have any ideas about the future and would like to be involved, post a message on the community forum and we'll get in touch!

lost.eu was previously discussed here: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=19872

Not related too Lost, the TV show, as catherwood so kindly pointed out. Smile
