Woah folks...

This guy Sims and his company are pretty clearly NOT related to this game. Stalking him at his apartment is a bad idea. Let's not let the wild speculation get TOO wild.

I agree. Seems like simple coincidence to me.

A few emails to him, or a phone call, should be able to confirm/deny his involvement. No need to go poking around his apartment or workplace!

Bringing a video camera.

Anyone else going? I'd really feel safer if we were in a group of three or more.

We believe you're looking for the 1984 edition of "Access: The Supplementary Index to Periodicals" (AI3.A23) in the South Hall of the Rose Main Reading Room.
Good luck~!

Thanks. I wasn't sure which edition.

For any New Yorkers -- I will be in front of the library to the right of the entrance at about 10:45am. I'll be wearing a long black coat, white Chuck Taylor (R) tennis shoes, and I will be holding a white bag.

(just for kicks) If you see me, approach me and say, "Do you have a flare gun?" I will respond, "No, but this sector has been clear of fragments for weeks."

I sure hope they let me in with my video camera.

Ok - so brand-new to this thing in geeral, but this has got me so excited.

I was thinking about the postcard image on the main site. I pulled it up and noticed a very angular shape on it.

Also, the background to the 14251612181818198HD YouTube account (which has all its extras disabled...I tried numerous URL hacks and could not get creator's videos to show up) looks odd. Seems like there is way too much whitespace. Perhaps embedded text? I don't have a Hex editor or a text/image deciphering program, but I do know that text can easily be hidden in JPG images.

I hope some of this helps someone.

You're making me want to fake a horrible illness to get out of work right now and head up to the library. haahah.

re: Hidden in Images

My Vista's being hard to work with, but someone should try saving the file and renaming it as a .rar, just to see if there's anything hidden inside.

Probably nothing, but possible.

Hex editors and deciphers aside...if you pull up the graphic by itself in a browser window and grab it with the mouse, drag the image to the right. There is additional whitespace, and when it merges with the solid black at the right of the image, you can see...? Something with teeth?

EDIT:

Oh, whoop, yeah, I see the face now. After years of mindf#$% pictures my inclination is to say it's just an illusion/coincidence, but could be a clue.

I ran the image through two steganographic forensic tools, no dice there either...

I was zooming around in photoshop, however, and the white pixels in his right eye seem a little out of place... Might just be artifacts from the compression, though.

aye, it's just the woman's head, very dark. nothing in the white around the clip either.
I think the page is just customized with sufficient CSS settings to make getting to the video not 'intuitive'. a minimal page. I can't find anything unexpected in the image clip. *shrug*

secondly, Wiki's been up since last night, FWIW. I've had requests to keep it up, so use it if you want, or not Razz

Would it make sense for an operation thats based in NY to actually have a PO box in Milwaukee? Can mail be forwarded from a PO box? Is there any way to determine if thats a valid PO box number?

EDIT: looks like a real po box..
